Providing & Fixing of KNAUF CEILING SOLUTIONS (ARMSTRONG) Channeled Woodworks perforated panels of width 192mm, thickness of 15mm and length 2400mm or as required by the Architect/ approving engineer, made of Moisture Resistant fibre board with minimum 595 Kg/cu.m. density substrate with a laminated facing/high density fibre board with minimum 830 Kg/ cu.m density substrate with a laminated facing as per the approved shade (PORTLAND MAPLE, SEA BEECH, SIAM WOOD, MYSTIQUE WALNUT, INTERIOR WHITE & ALUMINA PEARL) & finish and a melamine balancing layer on the reverse side. The boards shall have a special perforation pattern where the visible surface has a “Helmholtz” fluted perforation of 3mm/4mm width and 21/13mmm of visible panel each. The edges of the panels shall be “tongue-and-grooved” to receive special clips for installation. The back of the perforated panel shall have sound absorbing non-woven acoustical fleece having NRC of 0.52-0.55. The panels shall be mounted on special aluminium splines using clips provided by KNAUF CEILING SOLUTIONS (ARMSTRONG) and approved by the Architect/ Engineer-in-Charge. The cost including supply and Installation of AL battens and Rock wool.
INSTALLATION: Supply and Installation of AL battens of un anodized Aluminium frame work using 50x25mm of 1.2mm thick Aluminium box section at 600mm centre to centre vertically and horizontally including 50mm thick, 48Kg density Rock wool covered with white tissue to achieve the NRC upto 0.75) or as approved by the Architect. Screw the aluminium extruded keel for channelled woodworks provided by KNAUF CEILING SOLUTIONS (ARMSTRONG) over the lowest and second wooden batten at an on-centre distance of 600mm. Place the inside clip on the groove end of the panel along the Al keel and then place the tongue end of the next panel. Continue installing rows of panels by inserting the tongue into the groove of the earlier inserted panel and progressively installing inside clips into the next keel till the actual height is achieved. Finish off the edges using wooden moulding of matching colour (will be paid under relevant item). Providing and fixing of Hollow metal steel door at all levels from certified Manufacturer. All hollow metal general doors with or without vision panel/louvers shall be of Pressed Galvanised steel Double or Single leaf to required sizes of approved make Shakti Hormann or approved equivalent which consists of frame, shutter, infill and finish as detailed below and conforming to IS 277.
Note: 1.Door frame shall be Single rebate profile of size 100 x 57 mm made out of 1.20mm thick galvanised steel sheet (18 gauge). Frames should be Mitered and field assembled with self tabs. Frames should be provided with back plate bracket and anchor fasteners for installation on a finished plastered masonry wall opening. Providing and fixing in position with SIGNUM 120 Minute Steel Fire Resistant Door specifications which meet with IS 3614 Part 2 and BS 476 Part 22 standards for Fire Resistance. The product described herein conforms to stability, integrity as well as insulation criteria as mentioned in IS 3614 Part 2/ BS 476 Part 22. It includes proprietary design and performance specifications.
MATERIALS: Steel sheets for frame sections and shutter skin shall conform to IS 277 with Z 120 coating and to IS 513 for its base physical and chemical properties. Sheet thicknesses shall be as specified below for frame and shutter Core shall be proprietary fire retardant heat insulating material Intumescent strip shall be Rigid PVC type of size 20 mm x 4 mm Anchor Bolts shall be of size M8 x 75 mm, galvanized for corrosion resistance Vision Panel (optional) shall be of necessary construction to achieve a fire rating of 120minutes as per standards. CONSTRUCTION: Frame: Steel frames shall have a single rebated profile of 140 mm x 65 mm with bending radius of 1.4 mm constructed from minimum sheet thickness of 1.5 mm Frames shall be fabricated at factory pre-equipped with iron-mongery preparation and reinforcements. Frames shall be in knock down form with butt joints for bolted assembly directly at site. Provision for anchor bolt fasteners on each vertical jamb for fixing to Wall/ RCC surface shall be made. Center to center distance between the anchor fasteners shall not be more than 600 mm Grooves for intumescent strip of size 20 mm x 4 mm shall be provided on both vertical jambs and horizontal jamb of frame. Shutter: Steel shutters shall be 60 mm (+2 mm) thick, press formed, double skin hollow type construction with folded interlocking seam joints at stile edges, with minimum sheet thickness of 1.2 mm Shutters shall have no screwed, welded/ fuse-jointed or riveted joints on either face. Shutters shall be provided with proprietary fire retardant heat insulating core to be bonded to the inner surfaces of the shutter using suitable permanent glue. Shutters shall be factory prepared with pre-punched cut-outs and reinforcements to receive iron mongery. Grooves for intumescent strip of size 20 mm x 4 mm shall be provided on all three edges of the shutter except bottom edge. FABRICATION: Steel door units - frames and shutters shall be fabricated to be rigid and free from defects such as warping and buckling. Separate top and bottom channels (top channels shall be flush with top door edge and bottom channels shall be inverted) shall be welded to the shutter to act as reinforcement and to prevent ingress from external particles. Flange for vision panel shall be square or rectangular in shape with a profile of 40 x 6 mm, with one side welded to the shutter face and the other side screwed. Screws shall be counter sunk and flat to be flush with beading surface. Clearances at jambs and heads shall not be more than 3 mm between the frame and shutter. Floor level to shutter bottom clearance i.e. undercut shall not be more than 5 mm.
FINISHES: Frame and Shutter surfaces shall be suitably prepared and cleaned with solvents prior to coating. Frames and shutters shall be finished powder coated at factory as per approve RAL colour shades. The dry film thickness (DFT) for the powder coating shall be not less than 50 microns. Alternatively frames and shutters can be finished using anticorrosive zinc rich two component epoxy stoving primer (35 microns DFT) and top coat of two component polyurethane paint (35 microns DFT) of approved RAL colour shade for the project MONGERY PROVISIONS: Frames: Frames shall be provided with 3 mm thick hinge reinforcement plates with M6 nuts pre-fixed to receive hinges for screw mounted fixing at site. Concealed encasings or brackets using steel plates shall be provided at all pre-punched cut-outs as reinforcement and with pre-drilled holes for iron mongery such as lock strike plates, concealed door closer tracks/ guide channels. All cut-outs including hinge plates, lock strike plates shall have mortar guard covers from inside to prevent grouting material, dirt, and dust ingress into cut-outs during installation. Shutters: Shutters shall be provided with 3 mm thick hinge reinforcement plates with M6 nuts pre-fixed to receive hinges for screw mounted fixing. Concealed encasings or brackets using steel plates shall be provided at all pre-unched cut-outs as reinforcement and with pre-drilled holes for iron mongery such as lock body, concealed door closer, flush bolts, drop down gaskets etc. Reinforcement plates shall also be provided at necessary locations (as per approved drawings) to support surface mounted iron mongery items such as doors closers, all drops, pull handles. QUALITY ASSURANCE: Steel Fire rated doors shall be manufactured by a unit certified for its quality systems as per ISO 9001: 2008 standards from a recognized certifying authority. Steel door unit shall be designed and manufactured to comply with IS 3614 Part 2 specifications. Each door unit shall have a fire rating label, to indicate fire resistance of door as well as door identification number and date of manufacturing. TESTING: Entire fire door assembly complete with iron mongery shall be type tested and certified for its fire rating by CBRI or CPRI. Single and double doors shall be tested separately to reflect accurate resistance results in case of fires. Type test reports shall be submitted for all projects with no further testing required, unless agreed to between the client and SIGNUM. TRANSPORTATION, UNLOADING AND STORAGE: Frames and shutters shall be covered with adhesive based PE sheets to prevent damages to surface finish during transportation and at site. Packaging labels shall be applied to each set as per project schedule for easy identification at site. Additional protection such as side bolsters from card-board paper shall be used to protect during transit and at-site storage. All knocked down frames shall be stacked flat and shutters flat/ vertically on top of bolsters in clean, dry, well-ventilated areas. NOTE: a) Before the manufacturing the doors contractors should submit the separate detailed drawing for each doors for approval from Engineer-in-Charge, with detailed specification and complete procedure of manufacturing, QAP and other required document as asked by Engineer-in-Charge/AERB. b) For manufacturing and installation of all doors the actual site measurement to be taken and the drawing shall be approved by the Engineer in charge before manufacturing of doors and unsuitable matching the size of door with civil structural openings should be strictly avoided. c) For installation of all doors the clearance should obtained from the Health physics and medical fitness certificate is essential for all workers, Technicians and working personnel’s as per the requirement. d) Manufacture warranty that for 18 months from the date of installation. Manufactured products shall be free from defects in material, workmanship, construction, function Air Tightness and Fire Rating Criteria and in accordance with the approved shop drawings submitted. (MTC test certificate must be produced before installation.) e) The Payment released only after successful completion of works and successful completion of all necessary tests, submission of all test reports and submission of Guarantee bond for a period of 18 Months.
