Work Experience Requirements
The required prior work experience for the bidder is related to the completion of similar works. A "Substantially Completed Work" is defined as an ongoing work in which payment equal to or more than 90% of the present contract value has been made to the contractor. The credential certificate for such work should have been issued not prior to 60 days of the date of invitation of the present tender. For a work to be considered for fulfillment of credentials, it can be a work started prior to 7 years but completed in the last 7 years.
The subcontractor must have successfully completed at least one work similar to the work proposed for subcontract, costing not less than 35% value of the work to be subletted, in the last 5 years. However, for subletting of work costing up to Rs 50 lakh, no previous work experience of subcontractor shall be asked for.

The formula for bid capacity can be represented as:
Bid Capacity = A - B (for a single tenderer)
Bid Capacity = Σ(Ai - Bi) (for a Joint Venture, where i represents each member of the JV)
The variables used in the formula are defined as:
A = Maximum value of construction works executed and payment received in any one of the previous three financial years or the current financial year.
B = Existing commitments and balance amount of ongoing works with the tenderer.
Ai and Bi represent the values of A and B for each member 'i' of the Joint Venture.
