The bid capacity required in the given tender is referred to as the Residual Bid Capacity or Available Bid Capacity (ABC), and it can be calculated using the formula: Available Bid Capacity (ABC) = 2.5 x A x N - B Where: A = Maximum value of all Civil Engineering works in any one year during the last 5 financial years (or Maximum turnover in the last five financial years) N = Number of years prescribed for completion of work for which the current bid is invited (or Period of completion of the contracted work in years, calculated till two decimal places) B = Value of the balance ongoing works to be executed in period N (or Value of balance work in all government and private works) For a Joint Venture (JV), the values of A and B shall be the sum total of the respective figures of both parties. The ABC should be more than the estimated cost of work given in the Notice Inviting Tender (NIT).
