Picking up stone ballast from the stacks made along the alignment of the track and spreading thereof uniformly on the prepared formation to provide 150 mm thick clean ballast bed duly compacted by 8/10 ton self-propelled road roller and subsequently to recoup the ballast including dressing and boxing to make standard ballast profile after linking of the track with all lift, ascent, descent, crossing of track/nallah or any other obstruction and upto a lead of 150 m measured along the track with contractor's own labour and T&P. The rates 2 are inclusive of screening of ballast, if required, to remove the sand mixed in the ballast stacks due to blowing of sand-storms in the area. Compaction and preparation of bed shall be done in relevant item for preparation of ballast bed on formation. Notes:- (1) 80% payment against this item will be made on putting the ballast in track as per required profile/in stages & 20% payment against this item will be made on dressing & boxing. (2) In case contractor fails to complete boxing & dressing in some stretches as per required profile, then recovery @ Rs. 10 per RM of track shall be made.

Loading and leading of stone ballast from the stacks and spreading / putting thereof into the track to makegood the deficiency at different locations including all handling / rehandling, ascent, descent, crossing of 3 track,nallah, dressing and boxing to make standard ballast profile with contractor's own labour, T & P and consumables, asper direction of Engineer in charge or his authorized representative. Lead shall be measured along the alignment. Theitem includes Putting, spreading, dressing and boxing of the ballast as a complete item, for which nothing extra shallbe paid.

Providing and fixing along the railway track Hectometer/ Km/ gradient post and fouling marks in M- 25 grade RCC and M-10 grade base concrete as per Railway drawings with contractor's own cement, steel, 8 aggregate, water, tools and plants, equipments, consumables, laborers etc., inclusive of all lift & lead, taxes, royalties etc. complete as per special conditions of contract andas directed by Engineer-in-charge. Note:- Deduction will be made @ Rs. 171.04 Each quantity, if painting and lettering is not done. For hectometer post retro-reflective paint and lettering shall be paid under relevant NS/USSOR item.

Tamping of track,turnouts, trap points laid on BG PSC sleepers on main/loopline/Sidings with railways tamping machine including Pre Tamping and Post tamping attention to the track as per the instructions laid down in the Indian Railway Track Machine Manual, after each round of tamping of the track by on Track 11 tampers, with contractor's own labour and T & P. Railway will provide tie tamping machine, Hydraulic oil, grease, lube oil and crew free of cost. Diesel, cotton waste, re- conditioning of tamping tools will be provided by contractor at his own cost. All labour required for pre-tamping, post tamping and during tamping operations shall be provided by the contractor at his own cost. Work is to be carried out as per special conditions of contract and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Preparation of ballast bed on new formation suitable for BG track including rolling of ballast carpet 12 thickness (150 mm maximum) with contractor's own 8 to 10 tonne self-propelled roller, tools & plants, equipments, consumables, labour etc. including all lead and lift complete as per Special Conditions of Contract and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge as per approved profile. Note: putting of fresh ballast will be paid seperately under relavent item.
