Bid Capacity
The formula for bid capacity or average annual contractual turnover is: V/N or 'V' whichever is less; where V = Advertised value of the tender in crores of Rupees, N = Number of years prescribed for completion of work for which bids have been invited. In case of subcontracting, the subcontractor must have successfully completed at least one work similar to the work proposed for subcontract, costing not less than 35% of the value of the work to be subletted, in the last 5 years.
No prior work experience is required for subletting of work costing up to Rs 50 lakh.
The definition of similar work is the installation of Air Brake/ Air Spring Control Equipment's/ Failure Indication cum Brake Application Device (FIBA)/ Emergency Brake Cable Box (Pull Box) in any variant of Railway Coach at any Unit of Indian Railway.
