Tack Coat on Bituminous surfaces (Providing and applying tack coat with bitumen emulsion using emulsion pressure distributor at the rate of 0.20 to 0.30 kg per sqm on the prepared bituminous surface cleaned with mechanical broom.)

Bituminous Concrete Grading -II (Providing and laying bituminous concrete with higher capacity batch type hot mix plant using crushed aggregates of specified grading, premixed with VG-30 bituminous binder @ 5.4 per cent of mix and filler, transporting the hot mix to work site, laying with a hydrostatic paver finisher with sensor control to the required grade, level and alignment, rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem rollers to achieve the desired compaction as per MORTH specification clause No. 507 complete in all respects) NOTES:- (i) Job mix formula for the bituminous concrete shall be provided by the agency and shall be got approved from Punjab PWD, B&R Research laboratory Patiala before adoption at site for execution. (ii) The specifications of this item for analytic purpose is kept with bitumen content @ 5.4% weight of mix variation as compared with job mix formula shall be paid/ deducted accordingly. The limits of variations shall be worked out with the approved formula.

TECHNICAL NOTE:- i.) Apart from the conformity with the grading and quantity requirement of individual ingredients exhibited above the mix aggregate i.e. coarse and fine aggregate for bituminous concrete shall meet all requirements set forth clause 507 of MORT&H specifications. ii.) The final grading for the aggregates required for bituminous concrete confirming to table 500.17 of MORT&H specifications shall be determined after getting the bituminous concrete designed from Punjab PWD, B&R Research Laboratory Patiala after obtaining 60% of material. The design mix so finally approved shall be termed as the approved mix. The aggregates shall be hydrophobic and of low porosity. The aggregates shall satisfy the physical requirement set forth in table 500-6 (addendum to latest revision). iii.) The approved mix shall exhibit the following details, source and location of all material:- (a) Binder expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. (b) Course expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. (c) Crushed bajri expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. (d) Fine aggregate expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. (e) A single definite percentage passing each sieve for mixed aggregates (f) Density of bituminous concrete after compaction will be not less than 2.35 gm/CC.
