Relaying of earth obtained from road cutting

Construction of granular sub-base by providing material as per grading-III ( Table 400-I of MORT&H 5th revision), mixing in a mechanical mix plant at OMC, spreading in uniform layers with motor grader on prepared surface and compacting with vibratory power roller to achieve the desired density, complete as per technical clause 401 of MORT&H specifications

Scarifying the existing Bituminous road surface to a depth of 50 mm and disposal of scarified material within all lifts and leads upto 1000 metres.

Providing, laying, spreading and compacting graded stone aggregate to wet mix macadam specification including premixing the Material with water at OMC in mechanical mix plant, laying in uniform layers with paver in sub- base / base course on well prepared surface and compacting with vibratory roller to achieve the desired density complete as per technical clause 406 of MORT&H specifications

Providing and applying primer coat with bitumen emulsion SS on prepared surface of granular base including cleaning of road surface and spraying primer at the rate of 0.85kg/sqm complete as per technical clause 502 of MORT&H specifications

Providing and applying tack coat with penetration grade bitumen emulsion using bitumen pressure distributor at the rate of 0.25 kg per sqm on the prepared bituminous surface/granular surface treated with prime coat after cleaning the surface complete as per technical specifications

Providing and laying dense graded bituminous macadam 50mm to 75mm thick with batch type HMP using crushed aggregates of specified grading, premixed with bituminous binder V.G.-30 @ 4.5%, laying with a hydrostatic paver finisher with sensor control to the required grade, level and alignment, rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem rollers to achieve the desired compaction as per MoRTH specification clause No. 505 of MORT&H specifications. NOTES : - (i) Job mix formula for the dense bituminous macadam shall be provided by the agency and shall be got approved from Punjab PWD, B&R Research Laboratory Patiala before adoption at site for execution. (ii) The specification of this item for analytic purpose is kept with bitumen content @ 4.50% weight of mix variation as compared with job mix formula shall be paid / deducted accordingly. The limits of variation shall be worked out with the approved formula. Technical Note: i) Apart from the confirmity with the grading and quantity requirement of invidual ingredients exhibited above the mix aggregate i.e. coarse and fine aggregate for dense bituminious concrete shall meet all requirements set forth clause 505 of MORT&H 5th Revision specifications. ii) The final grading for the aggregates required for dense bituminius macadam confirming to table 500.10 of MORT&H 5th revision specifications shall be determined after getting the dense bituminous macadam desinged from Punjab PWD, B&R Research Laboratory Patiala after obtaining 60% of material. The design mix so finally approved shall be termed as the approved mix. The aggregates shall satisfy the physical requirement set fourth in table 500-6 (Addendum to latest revision). iii) The approved mix shall exhibit the following details, source and location of all material: - iii (a) Binder expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. iii (b) Course expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. iii (c) Crushed bajri expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. iii (d) Final aggregate expressed as percentage by weight of total mix iii (e) A single definite percentage passing each sieve for mixed aggregates. iii (f) Density of dense bituminous macadam after compaction will be not less than 2.30 gm/CC.

Providing and laying bituminous concrete 30mm to 45mm thick with batch type hot mix plant using crushed aggregates of specified grading, premixed with bituminous binder VG-30 @ 5.40%, carriage of mixed material to site of work, laying with a hydrostatic paver finisher with sensor control to the required grade, level and alignment, rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem rollers to achieve the desired compaction complete as per technical clause 509 of MORT&H specifications. NOTES : - (i) Job mix formula for the bituminous concrete shall be provided by the agency and shall be got approved from Punjab PWD, B&R Research Laboratory Patiala before adoption at site for execution. Apart from the confirmity with the grading and quantity requirement of invidual ingredients exhibited above the mix aggregate i.e.coarse and fine aggregate for bituminous concrete shall meet all requirements set forth clause 507 of MORT&H 5th Revision specifications. ii) The final grading for the aggregates required for bituminous concrete confirming to table 500.17 of MORT&H 5th Revision specifications shall be determined after getting the bituminous concrete designed from Punjab PWD, B&R Research Laboratory Patiala after obtaining 60 % of material. The design mix so finally approved shall be termed as the approved mix. The aggregates shall be hydrophobic and of low porosity. The aggregates shall satisfy the physical requirement set fourth in table 500-6 (addendum to latest revision). iii) The approved mix shall exhibit the following details, source and location of all material: - iii (a) Binder expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. iii (b) Course expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. iii (c) Crushed bajri expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. iii (d) Final aggregate expressed as percentage by weight of total mix iii (e) A single definite percentage passing each sieve for mixed aggregates. iii (f) Density of bituminous concrete after compaction will be not less than 2.35 gm/CC.

Road marking with hot applied thermoplastic compound 2.5mm thick including reflectorising glass beads @ 0.25kg per sqm area as per IRC:35 1997 complete as per technical clause 803 of MORT&H specifications

Supplying and fixing of single mould twin shank reflective road studs made out of poly carbonate/ABS moulded body and reflective panels with micro prismatic lens or Glass Beeds capable of providing total internal reflection of the light entering the lens face with retro reflectance and chromaticity values shall be as given in the detailed specifications and the product shall conform to ASTM D4280. The raised pavement marker shall also meet all the testing conditions ofASTM D4280 and fixed to the road surface using the adhesive. Two cylindrical Polymer Shanks of not less than 20 mm diameter and not less than 30 mm length shall be molded in the RPM body. The marker shall support a load of 13635 Kg tested in accordance with ASTM D4280. The marker shall withstand flexural strength of 909 kgf force in accordance with ASTM D4280. Marker lenses shall be moulded of Polycarbonate or methyl methecrylate conforming to ASTM D788. The supplier shall provide a 2 years warranty for satisfactory field performance as per clause804.7.3 of MORT&H 5th revision specifications.
