Providing, laying, spreading and compacting graded stone aggregate to wet mix macadam specification including premixing the Material with water at OMC in mechanical mix plant, laying in uniform layers with paver in sub- base / base course on well prepared surface and compacting with vibratory roller to achieve the desired density complete as per technical clause 406 of MORT&H specifications

Construction of Shoulder with good quality earth obtained from borrow pits including compensation of earth, loading, unloading, carriage to site of work, spreading, grading to required slope and compacting to meet requirement as per Clause 3003 of MORT&H specification.

Construction of embankment with earth obtained from roadway cutting or excavation including spreading, grading to required slope and compacting to meet requirement of table 300-2 as per technical clause 305 of MORT&H specifications

Providing and applying tack coat with bitumen emulsion RS using emulsion pressure distributor at the rate of 0.25 kg per sqm on the prepared bituminous surface/granular surface treated with prime coat after cleaning the surface complete as per technical clause 503 of MORT&H specifications

Providing and laying dense graded bituminous macadam 50mm to 60 mm thick with batch type HMP using crushed aggregates of specified grading, premixed with bituminous binder VG-40 @ 4.5%, laying with a hydrostatic paver finisher with sensor control to the required grade, level and alignment, rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem rollers to achieve the desired compaction complete as per technical clause 505 of MORT&H specifications NOTES:- (i) Job mix formula for the dense bituminous macadam shall be provided by the agency and shall be got approved from Punjab PWD, B&R Research Laboratory Patiala before adoption at site for execution. (ii) The specification of this item for analytic purpose is kept with bitumen content @ 4.50% weight of mix variation as compared with job mix formula shall be paid/ deducted accordingly. The limits of variation shall be worked out with the approved formula. TECHNICAL NOTE:- I.) Apart from the conformity with the grading and quantity requirement of individual ingredients exhibited above the mix aggregate i.e. coarse and fine aggregate for dense bituminous concrete shall meet all requirements set forth clause 505 of MORT&H specifications. II.) The final grading for the aggregates required for dense bituminous macadam confirming to table 500.10 of MORT&H specifications shall be determined after getting the dense bituminous macadam designed from Punjab PWD, B&R Research Laboratory Patiala after obtaining 60% of material. The design mix so finally approved shall be termed as the approved mix. The aggregates shall be hydrophobic and of low porosity. The aggregates shall satisfy the physical requirement set forth in table 500-6 (addendum to latest revision). III.) The approved mix shall exhibit the following details source and location of all material:- (a) Binder expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. (b) Course expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. (c) Crushed bajri expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. (d) Fine aggregate expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. (e) A single definite percentage passing each sieve for mixed aggregates. (f) Density of dense bituminous macadam after compaction will be not less than 2.30 gm/CC

Crack Prevention Courses (Stress Absorbing Membrane crack width less than 6mm) Laying of a stress absorbing membrane over a cracked road surface after cleaning the road surface, using modified binder CRMB-55 complying with clause 517 @ 0.90kg per sqm and crushed stone aggregates of specified grading, spraying binder and spreading crushed stone aggregates, sweeping the surface for uniform spread of aggregates complete as per technical clause 517 of MORT&H specifications

Providing and laying 25 mm thick mastic asphalt wearing course with paving grade bitumen 85/25 or 30/40 @10.2%, fine aggregates, coarse aggregates, lime filler @ 17.92% of total mix, prepared by using mastic cooker and laid to required level and slope, including providing antiskid surface with bitumen precoated fine grained hard stone chipping at an approximate spacing of 10 cm center to center in both directions, pressed into surface when the temperature of surface is not less than 100 degree C, protruding 1 mm to 4 mm over mastic surface complete as per technical clause 516 of MORT&H specifications.

Providing and laying 80 mm thick factory made cement concrete interlocking Paving blocks of M-40 grade machine made rubbder moulded smooth finish with strong vibratory process and approved size and design / shape laid in Ordinary Grey Colour and pattern over and including 40 mm thick compacted bed of coarse sand, filling the joints with fine sand etc, all complete as per directions of Engineer-in- Charge.

Supplying and fixing of single mould twin shank reflective road studs made out of poly carbonate/ABS moulded body and reflective panels with micro prismatic lens or Glass Beeds capable of providing total internal reflection of the light entering the lens face with retro reflectance and chromaticity values shall be as given in the detailed specifications and the product shall conform to ASTM D4280. The raised pavement marker shall also meet all the testing conditions of ASTM D4280 and fixed to the road surface using the adhesive. Two cylindrical Polymer Shanks of not less than 20 mm diameter and not less than 30 mm length shall be molded in the RPM body. The marker shall support a load of 13635 Kg tested in accordance with ASTM D4280. The marker shall withstand flexural strength of 909 kgf force in accordance with ASTM D4280. Marker lenses shall be moulded of Polycarbonate or methyl methecrylate conforming to ASTM D788. The supplier shall provide a 2 years warranty for satisfactory field performance as per clause 804.7.3 of MORT&H 5th revision specifications.
