The mix shall exhibit the following details: a) Binder expressed as a percentage by weight of total mix. b) Coarse aggregate of 26.5 mm gauge expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. c) Crushed Bajri of 11.2 mm size expressed as percentage of weight by total mix. d) Fine aggregates 4.75 mm below expressed as percentage of weight by total mix. e) A single definite percentage passing each sieve for mixed aggregates. f) Density of Bitumenious macadam (75mm/50mm thick after compaction) shall be minimum 2.2 gms/C.C & nothing extra shall be payable if higher density is achieved at site. IV. The contractor thereafter, shall be required to complete the supply of various ingradients or Bituminous macadam as per proportions stipulated in the approved mix. V. Rate of B.M. shall be quoted by the contractor with respect to binder content percentage by weight of mix being 3.4% if Laboratory designs a mix with different percentage then the difference shall be payable/recoverable.

A part from the confirmity with the grading and quantity requirement of invidual ingredients exhibited above the mix aggregate i.e. e coarse and fine aggregate for semi dense bituminous concrete shall meet all requirements set forth clause 508 of MORT & H specifications. ii) The final grading for the aggregates required for bituminous concrete confirming to table 500.15 of MORT & H specifications shall be determined after getting the semi dense bituminous concrete designed from either CRRI, New Delhi of Punjab PWD Laboratory at Patiala or any other labaoratory approved by the Chief Engineer/ Deptt. after obtaining 60% of the material for the required grading. The cost of mix design shall be recovered from the contractor. The design mix so finaly approved by theEngineer-in-Charge shall be termed as approved mix. If it is within the permissible limit. In case of variation the same may be got approved from the Chief Engineer Punjab PWD B&R Br. Patiala iii) The approved mix shall exhibit the following details, source and location of all material: - iii (a) Binder expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. iii (b) Course expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. iii (c) Crushed bajri expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. iii (d) Final aggregate expressed as percentage by weight of total mix iii (e) A single definite percentage passing each sieve for mixed aggregates. iii (f) Density of semi dense bituminous concrete after compaction will be not less than 2.30 gm/CC.
