AC PLANT AND CONNECTED WORKS AT PATHANKOT (A) AC PLANT AIR-COOLED SCROLL TYPE CHILLER UNIT (3W + 1S) Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of factory assembled, factory charged with R-407C or R-410A, and factory run-tested, air-cooled, rotary scroll compressor packaged chiller of actual capacity at least 24 TR consisting of all components necessary for protected and controlled unit operation complete all as specified and directed by the engineer-in-charge. (a) Compressors [i] The compressors shall be sealed hermetic, scroll type with crank case oil heater and suction strainer. The compressor motor shall be refrigerant gas cooled, high torque, hermetic induction type, two pole, with inherent thermal protection on all three phases and shall be mounted on RIS vibration isolator pads. The compressors shall be equipped with an internal module providing compressor protection and communication capability. (b) Evaporator [i] The evaporator shall be a compact, high efficiency, single circuit, brazed plate-to-plate type heat exchanger consisting of parallel stainless steel plates. [ii] The evaporator shall be protected with an external, electric resistance heater plate. The evaporator shall be insulated with 3/4” (19 mm) thick CFC and HCFC free closed-cell flexible elastomeric foam insulation material with 100% adhesive coverage. The insulation shall have an additional outer protective layer of 3 mm thick PE embossed film to provide superior damage resistance. Insulation without the protective outer film shall not be acceptable. UV resistance level shall meet or exceed a rating of ‘Good’ in accordance with the UNI ISO 4892 - 2/94 testing method. This combination of a heater plate and insulation shall provide freeze protection down to -20°F (-29°C) ambient air temperature. [iii] The water-side working pressure shall be a minimum of 650 psig (4482 kPa). Vent and drain connections shall be provided in the inlet and outlet chilled water piping by the installing contractor. Evaporators shall be designed and constructed according to, and listed by, Underwriter Laboratories (UL).

(c) Condenser [i] Condenser fans shall be propeller type arranged for vertical air discharge and individually driven by direct drive fan motors. The fans shall be equipped with a heavy-gauge vinyl-coated fan guard. Fan motors shall be TEAO type with permanently lubricated ball bearings, inherent overload protection, three-phase, direct-drive, 1140 rpm. Each fan section shall be partitioned to avoid cross circulation. [ii ) Standard Micro channel] Coil shall be all aluminum alloy micro channel design and shall have a series of flat tubes containing multiple, parallel flow microchannels layered between the refrigerant manifolds. Tubes shall be 9153 aluminum alloy. Tubes made of 3102 alloy or other alloys of lower corrosion resistance shall not be accepted. Coils shall consist of a two-pass arrangement. Each condenser coil shall be factory leak tested with high-pressure air under water. Coils shall withstand 1000+ hour acidified synthetic sea water fog (SWAAT) test (ASTM G-85-02) at 120°F (49°C) with 0% fin loss and develop no leaks. (d) Refrigerant Circuit [i] The refrigerant circuit shall include a refrigerant filter drier, sight glass with moisture indicator, liquid line solenoid valve (no exceptions), expansion valve, and insulated suction line with option for shut-off valves. (e) Construction [i] Unit formed sheet metal components shall be painted using a corrosion resistant paint system, for aesthetics and long-term durability. Paint system will include a base primer with a high-quality polyester resin topcoat. Painted galvanized parts shall be G-60 or greater and finished, unabraded panel surfaces shall be capable to be exposed to an ASTM B-117 salt spray environment and exhibit no visible red rust at a minimum of 3,000 hours exposure. Finished, abraded surfaces shall be tested per ASTM D1654, having a mean scribe creepage not exceeding 1/16” at 1,000 hours minimum exposure to an ASTM B-117 salt spray environment.

(f) Control System [i] A centrally located weatherproof control panel shall contain the field power connection points, control interlock terminals, and control system. Box shall be designed in accordance with NEMA 3R rating. Power and starting components shall include factory circuit breaker for fan motors and control circuit, individual contactors for each fan motor, solid-state compressor three-phase motor overload protection, inherent fan motor overload protection and one power block for connection to remote, contractor supplied disconnect switches. Comprehensive maintenance for chilling package of (24X4=96 TR) Scroll type refrigeration Compressor with R407C/ R410A refrigerant with Microprocessor panel and suction and Discharge control valves including one annual and three periodical inspection during the contract period at approximately equal intervals by the OEM and the maintenance program will proceed as and when required as per the inspection report provided by company representative and servicing of complete power supply system of the AC Plant including sub panels complete all as specified and directed by the engineer in charge as detailed below notes. Note:- (a) Carry the proper functioning of microprocessor panel and take the control test. (b) Check the electrical panels for tripping, overheating, chattering in electrical parts and terminals for proper tightness. (c) Check for proper working of all Ammeters, voltmeters, Hour mtrs, KWH Mtrs and overload relays, fan belt etc and replacing the same if found unserviceable. (d) Checking the operation of HVAC PANEL and replacing parts if found unserviceable. Proper load balancing should be carried out by the contractor of electric supply system to the chiller machines and necessary arrangements will be carried out for measurement of electric load in all phases by the contractor at no additional cost and the subject report of load in the electrical panel will be submitted at the time of inspection report of the chillers. (e) Clean electrical panels and chiller machine periodically. (f) Check functioning of water flow switch and interlock in the system. (g) Check all safety and operating controls for proper functioning and replace if the same is defective for proper sequence of operation of the machine. (h) All the breakdowns including compressor failure will be attended and the visit shall not be counted in periodical inspection. (j) Check refrigerant filter and drier core, replace the same, if found necessary. (k) Check oil level and oil heater in the system. (l) Check chilled water flow by checking pressure drop across the chiller. (m) Check evaporator and condenser approach and compare the chilled water temperature at full load with the chilled water temperature control. (n) Seasonal adjustment of controls if required and software upgrade.

(w) If AC Plants have any breakdown take immediate action and arrange to provide all necessary material, T&P and labour,If the contractor is unable to provide material and delay in smooth operation/working of AC Plant/AHU etc recovery will be done at the rate of Rs.3000/- per hour
