Excavation in base stripping of the seat of embankments by manual means removing of all organic materials in all kinds of soil including stoney earth, moorum, gravel and excluding all kinds of rock & boulders exceeding 0.014 cum in volume including rough dressing and dumping the excavated materials away from the work site with all leads, tools and plants, labour, all taxes, labour cess and royalties required for the work including cost of dewatering, mobilisation, demobilisation with all incidental charges to complete the item of work as per the direction of Engineer-in-Charge.

Earthwork in excavation of canal by Mechanical means in all kinds of soil including sand, silt, loam clay mud, stiff and hard clay, hard red earth, shale, stoney earth, gravel, moorum interspread with boulder upto 1/2 cum volume, including trimming the slopes and bed to proper profile and transporting useful excavated materials by mechanical means and laying on properly prepared and scientifically approved surface of bank of canal in filling section and spreading the earth in 22.5 cm thick to receive compaction if required useful excavated material for reuse afterward as per direction of Engineer-in-Charge and unuseful soil in spoil bank as required with all leads, lifts, delifts, loading and unloading including cost component and maintenance of coffer dam, diversion arrangement, dewatering and removal of the same after completion of the work including the cost of tools and plants, all materials, all taxes, labour cess, with mobilization and demobilization maintenance charges with all incidental charges to complete the item of work as per design, drawing, specification and direction of the Engineer-in-Charge.

Excavation in any approved type of soil in approved borrow areas by mechanical means including stripping of borrow area and clearing of all trees, stumps, roots, bushes, rubbish, humus and other objectionable materials in the designated borrow area for bringing earth as required for the work including cost of construction and maintenance of haul roads and approach roads from the borrow area to work site including watering if required in borrow area loading and transporting the excavated materials by mechanical means within all leads and lifts and laying on properly prepared and scientifically approved surface in filling reaches and leveling the earth in 22.5cm layer by manual labour or by mechanical means including rehandling the soil if required (to make the fill ready for watering and compaction) to proper shape & size with all lifts, delifts and cost of all materials, all taxes on materials, labour cess including the cost of mobilisation and demobilisation, supplying all machineries including cost of operation maintenance of all equipments and labour required for the work inclusive of supervision charges complete as per direction of Engineer-in-Charge (payment will be made on finished design section, contractor has to arrange borrow earth with all leads and lifts at his own cost & royalty of earth will be deducted).
