Third Boring on Soil Investigation for Provision of Deficient Married Accn for Officer at AF Stn Laitkor Peak , Soil exploration by wash boring using 50 mm casing pipe driven into ground water forced under pressure through a hollow drill rod 25mm dia fitted with chopping bit incel collector of disturbed and undisturbed samples at 1 m interval and carrying out all relevant lab test. Test should also covered standard penetration test. The total depth of soil investigation should be 15 mtr depth or refusal (n less than 50) which comes earlier. Soil Investigation should clearly specify the following, (a) size of borehole should be mentioned as per IS code, (b) conducting SPT, collection of disturbed and undisturbed soil samples at 1 interval, laboratory analysis of samples collection as per IS 2720, (c) The report should be submitted with details of field investigation, laboratory analysis recommendation regarding, the type of foundation, depth of footing and bearing capacity of soil as specified in IS 2131 and relevant IS Codes, (d) following lab test to be conducted on disturbed soil samples as considered necessary according to relevant specifications of IS 2720 and details result to be given in tabular form, (i) Sieve analysis and grain size distribution by sieve analysis and hydrometer test, (ii) Atterberg limits, (iii) natural moisture content, (iv) Particle size analysis test, (v) Bulk density oblique lay density. (d) Following lab test to be conducted on undisturbed soil samples as considered necessary according to relevant specification of IS 270, (i) Natural moisture content, (ii) Bulk density, (iii) Specific gravity, (iv) Free swell index and swelling properties of soil, (v) Organic matter in soil if any, (vi) consolidation test, (vii) Triaxial compression test and determination of shear parameters as per relevant IS, (viii) Harmful salt. (e) (i) Max and min level of ground water in the artea, (ii) Ground water table observed during investigation. (f) Site plan should be included in investigation report. (g) Liquefaction test to be included.
