SCHEDULE ‘A’ PART-VI (CAT’S EYES/ REFLECTIVE PAVEMENT MARKERS)

Supply & fixing of Cat’s Eyes designed for bonded or anchored within the road surface for lane marking and delineation for night time visibility to the traffic. It shall be capable of reflecting the incident light in the direction close the direction from which it comes. The Cat Eyes/ Reflective pavement marker shall have both face reflective in the red colour. The material used for the Cats Eyes shall consist of durable all thermoplastic housing. Its plastic body shall be moulded from Acrylistyrene, Acrylontrile of high impact polystyrene or any other suitable material. The reflective lens shall comprise of a series of integral cell containing in unmetallised single or dual orumatic cubes capable of providing total internal reflection of the light entering the lens face. It shall be assembled in a weather resistant polymer blend housing filled with an inert potting compound that adds strength to provide the increased durability, less damage by traffic and breakage due to spot loading from uneven road surface. It shall have a tough layer of untempered glass, which protects ecylic lens from abrasion and makes it to get self cleaned with every contact of tyre. The technical specifications of Cats Eyes are as under:- (a) Housing shall be made of acryliostyrene-acrylonitrile. The reflective lenses are moulded of methyl methacrylate.
(b) The filler is an inert adherent potting compound. The size shall be min 4”x4”x0.65”(100 x 100 x 18.00mm).
(c) The slope of retro reflecting surface shall preferably be 35+5 degree to base.
(d) Cats eyes shall be fixed with 6” long pegs.
