Rake out loose pointing mortar material from the joints of the heritage stone masonry atleast upto 50 mm in depth and clean the same by using a nylon brush or low-pressure compressed air. It may sometimes require more depth depending upon the loss of integrity of existing mortar. Care is to be taken that the adjacent good and sound matrix is not disturbed. Provide anti-rooting treatment to entire recessed pointed area. Clean the joint area properly and pointing shall be filled with a special mix of lime base hydraulic mortar and water for masonry with highly sulphate resistant cement and silica aggregates as approved by Engineer in charge. This lime based mortar is based on special limes with thixotropic agents, aldehyde based polymer and selected sands having high abrasion resistance. Hand press this mortar in the joint and finish the surface and allow the mortar to set for minimum 24 hours. Mortar should have Compression Strength of Appr. 10N/mm2. (If scaffolding is required, same shall be provided and will be paid under relevant item)

Removing lime or lean cement concrete including stacking the spoils as directed with all leads, lifts etc, complete

Removing Waterproofing and brick bat coba including stacking the spoils as directed with all leads, lifts etc, complete..

Dismantling the existing lights, tublelight, bulbs, fans, independent plug points, wiring including circuit mains of all types along with accessories etc. complete as per specification No.WG-DM / PW.

Removing doors and windows with frames and stacking the materials as directed with all leads, lifts etc. complete.

Providing and fixing double scaffolding system (cup lock type) on the exterior side of building/ structure, including additional rows of scaffolding in stepped manner as per requirement of site, made with 40 mm dia M.S. tube, placed 1.5 metre centre to centre, horizontal & vertical tubes joint with cup & lock system with M.S. Tubes, M.S. tube challis, M.S. clamps and staircase system in the scaffolding for working platform etc. and maintaining it in a serviceable condition for execution of work of cleaning and/or pointing and/ or applying chemical and removing it thereafter. The scaffolding system shall be stiffened with bracings, runners, connecting with the building etc, wherever required, if feasible, for inspection of work at required locations with essential safety features for the workmen etc., complete as per directions and approval of Engineer-in-charge. Note:-(1) The elevational area of the scaffolding shall be measured for payment purpose.(2) The payment will be made once only for execution of all items for such works.

Removing G.I. or A.C. sheet roofing including purlins, principal rafters etc. including sorting service able and unserviceable materials, stacking the same as and where directed in the compound including scaffolding etc. complete.

Removing and lowering the roof truss carefully without damaging the members and stacking as and where directed in the compound including scaffolding etc. complete.

Removing purlins from roof including stacking as directed with all leads, lifts etc. complete.

Removing rafters from roof including the materials as directed with all leads, lifts etc. complete.

Desilting the Supply Well, Intake Well / Head Works, Sump of water supply / sewerage works etc. in wet or dry condition including lifts upto 9 M and lead upto 150 M as required beyond the work site, stacking, spreading, including necessary guarding, etc. complete, as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Dewatering on BHP basis by using water pump including diversion of stream, providing cofferdams, earthern bunds etc. as may be necessary for foundation and other parts of the the works and pumping out water during and after excavation as may be required by using 5.0 to 9.0 BHP pump etc. complete. (prior approval of Superintending Engineer will be necessary)

Excavation for foundation in earth, soil of all types, sand, gravel and soft murum, including removing the excavated material upto a distance of 50m. beyond the building area and stacking and spreading as directed, dewatering, preparing the bed for the foundation and necessary backfilling, ramming, watering including shoring and strutting etc. complete. (Lift upto 1.5 m.) By physical means

Providing soling using 80 mm size trap metal in 15 cm. layer including filling voids with Crushed sand/grit, ramming, watering etc. complete.

Providing and laying cast in situ 1:2:4 Lime Concrete of trap/ granite/ quartzite/ gneiss metal for foundation and bedding as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including bailing out water, centring, formwork, laying/pumping, compacting, roughening them if special finish is to be provided, finishing if required with fine aggregate, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller and then mixing with coursed aggregate in drum mixer as per specifications including bailing out water, watering etc. complete.

Specialised stone cleaning to remove oil or emulsion paint, stains or dark patches, layers of Impervious coatings, cementatious layers, rust stains from surface of stone with chemicals, thinners, solvents, or soft Teepol type soap solution or by pressure jet machine (As specified by Consulting Architect). A gentle use of air abrasive tools may be permitted as long as no damage to the original surface is ensured. It may include usage of mechanical tapping, chemical surfactant or solvents, patent cleaning product or use of pressurised micro abrasives as necessary. Test patches would need to be undertaken to assess efficiency of technique prior to work. Removal to be followed by water washing. The surface shall finally be cleaned by hand rubbing and rinsing with clean water to obtain nearly original surface, colour and texure

Gently cleaning the surface of stone masonary and piers with specialized water misting techniques employing air water jet using a fine nozzle sprinkling system caliberated to spray fine mist along the stone surface without over wetting followed up by gentle brushing with soft nylon brushes and removing dirt, dust, bird dropping, grease, oil, algae, fungus, monkey beats, vegetation growth etc. as specified. Gentle surface cleaning may include using water misting and mild pH balanced surfactants as specified for indicated areas to remove the surface dirt, grit, accretions by means of water misting and cleaning etc. complete as directed by the Engineer in charge.

Providing Un-coursed Rubble Masonry of trap stones in lime mortar 1:1½, in foundation and plinth as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including the stones to be set in the work as received from the quarry, after merely knocking off weak corners and edges with the masons hammer, the stones shall be carefully laid so as to break joints, no joint shall exceed 12.5 mm. (½″) in thickness, every stone shall be set flush in mortar, the face stone shall be for greater size, and good beds, one through stone shall be inserted at least every 0.80 sq. mete (1 square yard), the joints shall be racked out carefully at least 25 mm. (1″) where pointing or plastering to be done, striking joints where no pointing or plastering is to be done, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller, bailing out water, watering and all exposed masonry work when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete.

Providing Ashlar Fine Masonry of trap / granite stones in lime mortar 1:1 with size of stone 45 cm. x 30 cm. x 20 cm. in superstructure as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including the stones be of approved quality, colour, hard and free from defect of any kind, dressing every stones fine tooled on all beds, joints and faces, full true if the surface are plane or to uniform curves or twists if required, the stones shall be set in fine mortar, the beds or joints being in no case more than 3 mm. (⅛″), the stone shall be laid in regular course not less than 30 cm. (12″) in height averaging 4½ c. ft., the face stone shall be laid header and stretcher alternately, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller, scaffolding, watering and all masonry work when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete.

Providing anti-termite treatment to the sides of flooring of the existing building as per I.S. 6313 (Part-III) by punching holes 6 mm dia. drilled at a distance of 30 cm. centre to centre and injecting one percent of chlorodane emulsion concentrate at the rate of 50 ml per hole and sealing by filling putty etc. complete covering 2 years guarantee on bond paper.

Providing and fixing Mangalore Tiled Roofing as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including the best quality double channelled Mangalore pattern tiles, sound, thoroughly well-burnt throughout, of regular shape and uniform size, free from twist or other imperfection and must ring clearly when struck, the tiles shall be laid fair and square and breaking joints, fixing 44 mm. x 25 mm. (1¾″ x 1″) horizontal teak wood battens 31.75 cm. (12½″) centre to centre, the lowest batten, that nearest the eaves should be fixed about 25 cm. (10″) from the one immediate above and should have double the ordinary thickness etc. complete.

Providing and fixing Mangalore Ridge Tiles as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including the best quality Mangalore pattern ridge tiles, sound, thoroughly well-burnt throughout, of regular shape and uniform size, free from twist or other imperfection and must ring clearly when struck, set dry with joints pointed with mortar, the whole being rendered perfectly secure and water-tight and watering etc. complete.

Providing and fixing Corrugated Galvanised Iron Sheet Roofing of 22 B.W.G (0.80 mm thick), (weight 6.8 kg. /sq. m.) as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including the sheet to be laid with laps of 15 cm. (6″) at the ends and of two corrugations at the sides fastening with galvanised iron self-tapping screws with leads and bitumen washers etc. complete.
