OD25529/2022-2023:Supplying, stacking and laying coir geo-textiles type H2M5(unit weight-740g/sqm,mesh size 7.57mmX8.04 mm having a yarn diameter 3.5 mm and tensile strength of 4.2-1.3cN/tex) made from coconut fibre extracted from the husk of coconut , developed for specific civil engineering application like erosion control ,ground improvement filtration ,drainage,river bank protection ,road pavements,slope stabilization etc. The standard of coir geo-textile shall confirm with IS 15868(part 6): 2008 and IS 15340:2003. The coir geotextile shall be laid and fixed using appropriate J clip/bamboo stakes and plastering the sides with excavated mud, then planting anti erosion plants/grass as a mode of eco-friendly bank protection. The bamboo clip shall be made from smaller secondary branches with nail (eye bud)originating from the node having a minimum length of 20cm. The type of bamboo shall be of bambusa bamboos or similar species having good anchorage with the ground. Bamboo clip shall be used max 1metre interval in both direction. The coir geotextile shall be firmly sticked to the soil in line and level as per direction of site officer incharge. In no case it shall be loosened,additional strengthening of clamping shall be made at the edges of the coir geotextile.
