50.2.25.1:Filling with contractor's own earth ( excluding rock) in trenches, plinth, sides of foundations etc. in layers not exceeding 20 cm in depth, consolidating each deposited layer by ramming and watering, lead up to 50 m and lift up to 1.5 m as per direction of site Engineer-in-charge

OD4139/2024-2025:Forming bund to a width of 1.5 m and 1.5 m (av) height and protecting the sides with 1/2 split well matured and sound coconut post 2.7 m long driving down 1.2 m below ground level on both sides at 1.0 m c/c, providing 2 rows of weiling pieces 1/4 split coconut post on both sides and tying with 1/4 split coconut cross ties at 2.0 m c/c connecting the alternate set of post , and screening the sides of bund with seperation memberane of impermeable plastic sheet 125 micron thick fixed properly using cocnut post and weiling pieces and nails in full height including tying properly using iron wire and coir altogether and supplying and filling inside with cut earth / puddle clay upto 1.5m, level and conveyed with all leads and lifts including consolidating properly and maintaing the bund properly through out the cultivation period including cutting and removing materials and clearing area etc complete as per the direction by the departmental officers at site. Width = 1.5 m , Height = 1.5 m Length of coconut pile = 2.7 m Spacing = 1 m c/c Length of 1/2 split coconut pile required for 10 m = (10/1+1)x2 = 22 Nos x 2.7 m =59.4m Length of 1/4 Split coconut pieces for weiling pieces for 10 m = 2 x 2 = 4 Nos x 10 m = 40 m Length of 1/4 Split coconut pieces for cross ties = 10/2+1 = 6 Nos 2 x 1.5 = 18.0 m Plastic medium sheet = 10.30x1.5x2 = 30.9 m2 Cost of 1/2 split coconut post (Details vide 60.64.2), Coconut post requied for 1 m =59.4/10 = 5.94 m (average length of coconut pile 6 m and dia 25 cm ) Assuming coconut post can be used 2 times No of Coconut pile required for 1 m = 5.94/6 = 0.99 No Carriage of timber = 0.99 x 6 x 3.14 x.125x.125 = 0.291 cum Assuming 2 rows wailing pieces in both sides and 2 cross ties, Total 40+18= 58 m Hence for 1m = 58/10= 5.8 m Total No of Coconut piles 1/ 2 split for 10 m length @ 1.0 m c/c = 10/1.0+1 = 11 Nos. on both sides = 11 x 2 =22 Nos for 1 m length - 22/10 = 2.2 Nos Pile Driving down length = 1.2 m, Total length= 1.2 x 2.2 = 2.64 m Screening the frame with medium quality plastic sheet nailed to wailing pieces and coconut post, Sheet required = 10.3 x 2x 1.5 = 30.90 sqm, For 1 m = 30.90/10 = 3.1 sqm Quantity of earth = 1.5 x 1.5 = 2.25 cum
