Providing and laying PVC membrane waterproofing system in horizontal plane including adjustment layer to take up any surface irregularities of the substrate, in order to avoid any imperfections or foreign particles damaging the waterproof layer. It shalll composed of geotextile, weight of 300 g/m2, laid in dry conditions with edge overlap of 10/15 cm. Synthetic membrane of plasticized PVC, 2mm thick of approved manufacturer shall conform to the physical and chemical properties such as: Elongation at break (300%) UNI EN ISO 527-3 or equivalent, Ultimate Tensile Strength ( 16.7 N/mm²), Puncture resistance ( 1100mm) DIN 16726-5.12 or equivalent, Hydrostatic pressure Waterproof UNI EN 1928 resistance (6 hours at 5 bar) or equivalent. Double seam welding of PVC waterproofing membrane joints shall be pressure tested to 2 bars of 10 minutes .The waterproofing project to be divided into sectors if required and it is composed of shaped joints of PVC and it is welded to the existing waterproof liner. The rate shall be inclusive of providing and laying protection layer of non-woven 300gsm geo-textile membrane over the laid PVC waterproof membrane system, followed by a cement mortar screed of 50mm thick over the top layer of geo-textile membrane to facilitate the placing and tying of reinforcement bars of raft and all pressure release mechanism etc complete as directed by the Engineer-In-Charge. (The above work shall be carriedout by an agency having sufficient experience in membrane water proofing and should ensure a guarantee of 5 years). Only skilled and experienced persons shall be employed for this purpose.

The cost shall include the cost for providing and Installing a minimum protection layer of 300gsm or 25mm thick EPS protection boards over the vertically installed PVC waterproofing membrane, on the vertical face of the retaining wall to act as a protection layer against backfill and all pressure release mechanism etc complete as directed by the Engineer In Charge. (The above work shall be carried out by an agency having sufficient experience in membrane water proofing and should ensure a guarantee of 5 years). Only skilled and experienced persons shall be employed for this purpose. Only external surface area of retaining wall will be measured.)
