The pump design should be such as to facitate automatic installation / removal of pump with out having to enter in to sewage pit. The coooling jacket shall be provided in the pump to reduce sewage volume in the pump. The mono rail trolley and chain pulley block shall be provided and available at all times during the operation of the pump to ensure quick installation and removal whenever required. The reverse rotation prevention system shall be incorporated in the pump design to ensure that the pump does not start rotating in the reverse direction due to wrong electrical connections. MATERIAL OF CONSTRUCTION a) Pump Casing:- The pump casing shall be of CI as per IS 210 GR FG-260 with 2-3% NI. The internal surfaces shall be free of rough spots. The casing shall have central line discharge. b) Impeller:- The impeller shall be of stain less steel grade CF8M single/double vane non clog design. Additional a special contra cutting nd tearing system for disposal of material shall be provded c) Pump shaft:- The pump shaft shall be steel chromium plated alloy steel or stainless steel SS/410 as per the manufacturers standard shall be of one piece construction. d) Pump Bearing:- The pump bearing shall be of anti friction type. The bearing shall be able to take normal thrust loads due to unbalanced hydraulic loads on the inpellers plus the weight of all the rotating parts of the pump. The pump bearing shall be designed with minimum life of 40,000 Hours, the bearing shall be grease lubricated for life and shall be maintenance free. e) Guide rail System:- The assembly shall have CI pedestal bracket, delivery bend, MS guide rail pipe of suitable size of class C. Uupper guide rail holder etc., The pedestal and bracket shall provide automatic coupling between pump delivery, flange and discharge bend ( standard Bend / Duck Foot Bend ) f) Moisture Sensor ( Seal Monitor) :- Shall be provided in chamber to detect the failure of the mechanial seal. Motor shall have integral cable entry port properly saled. The motor shall be of alluminium die cast rotor only to ensure better starting torque charecterstics. The enclosure for motor shall be IP-68. Each phase of motor provided with thermic switches of bimetallic electro mechanical temperatre detectors. The motor shall operate satisfactorily at all operating levels in te wet well, the motor shall be sealed aganist entry of liquid being pumped by using two mechanical seals. Motor pump should have the fallowing built protection connections: 1) Thermistors protection connection against over heating of motor by thermister embeded in each face. 2) Sensor monitor protection connection against entry of liquid in the oil chamber by the moisture sensor provided inside the oil chamber 3) Reverse rotation protection connection device which trips the motor in case of reverse rotation due to wrong electrical connection. 4) Liquid level controller to facilitate auto operation and prevent dry running of pumps. The pump unit should be preferably supplied with two level switches along with automatic coupling bend, 12Mtrs lifting chain with shakles and guide pipes, bar wire of adequate length with extra tough water proof PVC sheathed submerssible copper cable of suitable capacity. The two level switches should such that the pump should be in ON condition only in the specified max and min levels of liquid in the wet well. The max and min limits will be different for each pumpset. This is to be adjusted in consultation with the Engineer-in-charge. 5) Pressure switches shall be provided at the individual deleveries of the pumps to avoid dry running of the pumps. If the delievery pressure drops, the pressure switches sensing the drop in pressure, shall send signal for tripping the motor. The switches shall be provided with tubing sensor, transducers, cabling etc, complete 6) Over laod indicators should be provided. Note:- 1) Motor offered shall be of such capacity to provide the maxium power requirement of impeller of the pump including transmission, shaft, losses with a 25% margin in the capacity of the motor when pumps is operated in the system with similar of dissimilar charecterstics 2) Motor shall be suitable for required out put when line voltage variation is +/- 10% and frequency of +/- 3% and in any combination of these voltage and frequency variation shall not exceed +/-10%. 3) The motor should be capable of providing the required out put at an ambient air temperature of 45 degree centigrade. 4) The shutoff head of the pump offered should be minimum 110% and maxium 130% of the specified head. SERVICING AND COMMISSIONING:- All the 5 Nos. of pumpsets along with all other eletrical equipments shall be serviced and commissioned in the presence of the Engineer-incharge of work; individual trail running for a period of 90 days. The work shall include following servicing and trail running of pumpsets along with allied equipments Calibration of switch gears relays and meters giving performance test of all electricalequipments. Giving performance test of the pumpsets such as discharge, efficiency and power absorption etc., Providing operating and maintenance manuals of pumps and allied equipments to the operating personnel. Giving trail run of the pumpsets for a period of 90 days from the date of successful commissioning. The contractor should employ personnel to operate and maintain the pumpsets and accessories during the trail run period and train the Board/Muncipal staff to operate the pumpsets etc., complete as directed by the Engineer in charge. Note:- 1. The energy and liquid/sewage will be provided by the Board free of cost. 2. the pumpsets along with all the eletrical equipment shall be commissioned only when the performance of switch gears, relays are witnessed by the Executive Engineer in charge of work and Asst. Executive Engineer (Electrical) of the Board and certified regarding the performance of relays/switch gears.
