Pipeline Retesting, Repair and Commisioning of Existing network

All consumables, fittings or any other material required for successful completion of work shall be arranged by contractor. 1). This item includes laying of MDPE pipeline whereever required within Bengaluru GA, Laying of MDPE pipelines for providing redundancy to already available MDPE network, Laying of MDPE pipelines by extending existing available mainlines and Laying of MDPE pipelines inside the apartments, etc as required. MDPE laying by HDD method is preferably to be adopted wherever feasible for pipeline dia 63mm and above. Restoration of HDD & manual/machine moling pits is included in this item. However, for pipeline laid by open cut, restoration as applicable shall be paid separately under SOR item no. PE-4. 2). Restoration of Moling /HDD pits on Asphalt road shall be carried out as per requirement of Local authoritity/BBMP/ BDA/ KIADB/BMRCL/KHB/GRAMPANCHAYAT/PWD/LOCAL ASSOCIATIONS etc. Also Refer Drg. No. MEC/23VT/01/11/D2/ST/LY/0211A/R00/A3 for pit restoration. 3). Cutting of Asphalt/concrete Road top For pits: Top layer of asphalt/ Concrete shall be cut open by employing mechanized saw/cutters for maintaining straight line for excavating Entry and Exit pits. 4) Restoration of entry/exit pit shall be carried out by filling the bottom layer with stone grit, followed by 200mm thk. GSB & 250mm thk. WMM with top bituminous layers comprising of 50mm thk. BM & 25mm thk. Premix carpeting matching with the existing road top level.

Laying of MDPE Pipeline of PE100 grade with SDR 11 having the following sizes by trenching in all kinds of soil, asphalt roads, concrete pavements/roads, all kind of pathways etc in Bengaluru Geographical Area (GA). The trenching can be made by using mechanical excavator /Manual moiling/Machine Moling/HDD or manually depending upon the site condition. The depth of trench should meet to ensure minimum 1000 mm cover from top of the pipeline to natural ground level at that location. The following are also in the scope of this item:

The above item includes liaisoning with concerned land owning authorities- state authorities / owners / ( i,e BBMP/ BDA/ KIADB/BMRCL/KHB/GRAMPANCHAYAT/PWD/LOCAL ASSOCIATIONS & BODIES, BUILDER, RWA (resident welfare association)/society etc.)& also all other associated liaisoning work as required for smooth execution of pipeline laying and making the last mile connectivity works complete from the nearest available mainline works with any authorities such as BBMP / BDA / BWSSB, local area representatives, traffic police, police, BESCOM, BSNL, BWSSB, BMRCL etc. and any other utility companies / agencies such OFC operator etc . Repairing/replacement of all damaged utilities if any, and payment of any compensation (if claimed by Builder/RWA/Owner/other utility agencies) is in scope of the contractor. For the pipeline laying work on outside roads, the liasionioning work for pipeline execution shall be paid separately under SOR 15. For the pipe laying work inside Apartments, Gated communities, societies , etc. there is no separate payment for Liasoning.

After laying of Pipeline, back filling with available soft soil upto depth of minimum 300mm, placing warning mat of 0.5 mm thk and 250 mm wide with tracebaility provision (as per attcahed specfications) as per given drg or as per instruction of GGL/Consultant, dressing the backfilled and compacted soil and backfilling & compaction of remaining trench depth with available soil.

Once pipeline laying is completed, flushing and pneumatic testing at 6 Kg/cm2 or more up to 10 kg/cm2 (as asked by GGL/MECON) is required to be carried out as per the details specification . After testing Nitrogen purging is required to done for complete pipelength as per the specification.

Installtion of G.I Pipes (Issued as Free Issue Material) - surveying, preparation of GI routing drawing, installation of GI pipes (as per IS:1239) of approved make alongwith all required fittings such as sockets, elbow, tee,reducer,bend,union, GI plug,endcap etc ,fixed vertically as well as horizontally (Riser, Header & Lateral, meter inlet/outlet including brass fittings etc.) for providing PNG connection to house hold in various type of Buildings including Highrise buildings. All the fittings shall have coating with 60 micron synthetic paint of approved colour and shade. Alternatively, fittings to be applied with two coat of synthetic enamel paint of approved make and colour, this also includes any patch work painting on pipes. The application of paint shall be before fixing the pipe to wall. Item includes pneumatic testing of the assembled section as per the specification and standard procedure of testing of the complete installation, making required arrangement for fixing of the pipes such as scaffolding , rope ladder etc,supply and fixing of approved clamp, screw (SS screw), dowel plug, steel supports with rods, fastners etc. If required, making holes by core cutting etc and making good the holes with grout of the matching clour/shade also included. All threading shall be NPT threading with thread making machine.
