Excavation in earthwork in hilly area all heights and depths, in all kind of soil including saturated soil comprising of mixed soil, ordinary rock and hard rock. All work of rock cutting by blasting shall be carried out by taking all necessary precautions against soil erosion, damage to hill side, water pollution, etc. and to protect stability of hill side. Rock shall be excavated with chiseling and wedging out rock (where blasting is prohibited). All earth work in cutting/ excavation, including rock excavation, shall be carried out true to lines, grades, side slopes, width, camber, super-elevation and level as shown on the drawings or as directed by the Engineer-in-charge, in conformity with the requirement of technical specification for Rural Road, August, 2004 and clause 16.2 of General Conditions for Contract to achieve designed formation width including hauling and stacking of material useful for construction at suitable sites and safe disposal of unsuitable cut materials in specified manner including arrangement of dumping site, trimming, filling of unevenness, blindage and finishing of the road to specified dimensions or as directed by the Engineer-in-charge for smooth riding. The recovery for stones, whether useful or not, for 7535.41 cum (Seven thousand five hundred thirty five and point forty one Cubic Meter) @ Rupees 170/- only (Rupees One hundred seventy) per cubic meter shall be effected on pro rata basis in all circumstances. Any loss to the public and private property during the course of excavation shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor, which shall have to be duly compensated by him in all cases.

Earthwork in excavation for foundation of structure as per drawing and technical specifications including setting out , construction of shoring and bracing, removal of stumps and other deleterious material, dressing of sides and bottom, backfilling the excavation earth to the extent required and utilizing the remaining earth locally for road work, including hauling of material in all leads and lifts, as per drawing and technical specifications.

Providing and laying plain cement concrete 1:3:6 (One cement : three sand : six crushed stone aggregate 40 mm (Forty millimeter) nominal size) in open foundation, Retaining wall, breast wall, edge wall, culvert mechanically mixed and vibrated including curing, form work and hauling of material in all leads and lifts, as per drawing and technical specifications.
