Excavation in earth work in hilly areas in all heights and depths in all kinds of soil including saturated soil comprising of mixed soil, ordinary rock and hard rock. All work of rock cutting by blasting shall be carried out by taking all necessary precautions against soil erosion, damage to hill side, water pollution etc. and to protect stability of hill side. Rock shall be excavated with chiseling and wedging out rock (where blasting is prohobited). All earth work in cutting/excavation, including rock excavation shall be carried out true to lines, grades, side slopes, widths, camber, super elevation and level as shown in the drawings or as directed by the Engineer-In-Charge, in conformity with the requirement of technical specifications for Rural Road, August 2004 and clause 16.2 of general conditions for contract ot achieve designed formation width including hauling and stacking of materials useful for construction at suitable sites and safe disposal dumping to be arranged by the contractor of un-suitable cut materials in specified manner, trimming, filling of unevenness, blindage and finishing of the road to specified dimentions including disposal of surplus materials with all leads and lifts at the locations specified in the tender documents or as directed by the Engineer-In-Charge for smooth riding. The recovery of the stone, whether useful or not, for 1910.45 cum. In all cases, @ Rs. 300/-only per Cum. Shall be effected on prorta basis. Any loss to the public and private property during the course of execution shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor, which shall have to be duly compensated by him in all cases.

Excavation in soil in Hilly area by all means in all kinds of soil such as pick work, jumper work, blasting work both in soft and hard rock with chiselling/wedging out rock (where blasting is prohibited) and other intermediate classification of soil including cutting and trimming of side slopes and disposal of unserviceable material by mechanical transport and stacking the serviceable/ useful material on road berms as per technical specification clause 1603.1,1603.2 or directed by the Engineer-in-charge. The work shall be executed in workman like manner and avoids any damages to the private/ Govt. property in the vicinity of work site, if damage access any property during the course of execution shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor which shall have to be duly compensated by him in all cases.

Earth work in excavation for structures as per drawing and technical specifications Clauses 305.1 & 1104 including setting out, construction of shoring and bracing, removal of stumps and other deleterious material and disposal upto any lead, dressing of sides and bottom and back filling in trenches with excavated suitable material in all kind of soil upto any depth in earth work such as pick work, jumper work, pick jumper work, pick jumper blasting work, blasting work in soft and hard rock conglomerate rock or saturated soil and their intermediate classification of soil including chiseling/ wedging out of rocks (where blasting is prohibited) and pumping or bailing watering /dewatering and disposal of all surplus excavated earth, up to all leads, lifts and through all modes of transportation, disposed earth to be levelled and neatly dressed including carriage of materials with in all leads, lifts and other incidentals as per direction of Engineer-in-charge.
