Bid capacity = (A*N*M - B) Where: A = Maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last 5 years (updated to the price level of the financial year in which bids are received at simple rate of 7 percent a year) taking into account the completed as well as works in progress. N = Number of years prescribed for completion of the works for which bids are invited (period up to 6 months to be taken as half-year and more than 6 months as one year). M = 1.5 (One and half) B = Value, at the current price level, of existing commitments and on-going works to be completed during the period of completion of the works for which bids are invited. For a completion time of 3 months, N will be 0.5 (half-year), so Bid capacity = (0.75*A - B) Additionally, the bid capacity required in the given tender to bid is specified as: - Average annual financial turnover during the last three years ending 31st March of the previous financial year which should be at least 30% of estimated cost of this project. The bidder must have experience of having completed similar work during the last 7 years, with the following values: - Three similar completed works costing not less than the amount equal to 40% of the estimated cost. - Or, two similar completed works costing not less than the amount equal to 50% of the estimated cost.
