The required prior work experience for the bidder includes experience in successfully completing or substantially completing at least one contract of highway (road and/or bridge works) or airport runway of at least 40 percent of the value of the proposed contract within the last five years. The works may have been executed by the applicant as a prime contractor or as a member of a joint venture or as a nominated sub-contractor. Substantially completed works mean those works which are at least 90 percent completed. In terms of value and percentage of similar works completed, the bidder should have completed at least one contract with a value of at least 40 percent of the proposed contract. The bidder should also provide information on the quantity of work performed, including the value of works completed. Additionally, the bidder should provide details of work performed as prime contractor or nominated sub-contractor, including project name, name of the employer, description of work, contract number, value of contract, date of issue of work order, stipulated period of completion, actual date of completion, and remarks explaining reasons for delay and work completed. The bidder is also required to have achieved a minimum annual financial turnover of the annual value of the contract applied for in any one year over the last five years. In the case of a joint venture, the lead partner shall meet not less than 50 percent of all criteria, and the joint venture must collectively satisfy the criteria. The experience of other joint venture partners shall be considered if it is not less than 30 percent of the qualifying criteria. The bidder undertakes to invest a minimum cash up to 25% of the value of the work during implementation of the contract.
