The bidder should have prior work experience of similar nature over the last five years. The required prior work experience includes having achieved a minimum annual financial turnover, defined as billing for works in progress and completed in all classes of civil engineering construction works only, in any one year, over the last five years of the annual value of contract/contracts applied for. The bidder should also have experience in successfully completing or substantially completing at least one contract of highway (road and/or bridge works) or airport runway of at least 40 percent of the value of the proposed contract within the last five years. Substantially completed works mean those works which are at least 90% completed, with a gross value of work done up to the last date of submission being 90% or more of the original contract price. The value of similar works completed should be at least 40% of the value of the proposed contract, and the percentage of completion should be at least 90%. The bidder should have completed works of similar nature with a value of at least Rs. 15 lakhs, but less than Rs. 50 lakhs, or more than Rs. 50 lakhs. The bidder should also provide information on the amount and percentage of similar works completed, with a minimum requirement of 25% of the value of the contract for investment during implementation. The bidder's prior work experience is considered based on the quantities of work executed as a prime contractor or as a nominated sub-contractor in the last five years. The experience of other joint venture partners shall be considered if it is not less than 30 percent of the qualifying criteria, and the lead partner should meet at least 50% of the qualifying criteria.
