The required prior work experience for the bidder includes experience in similar work, with the quantities of work executed as a prime contractor or as a nominated sub-contractor considered. The bidder should have completed similar works in the last five years. The value of such works is to be mentioned in the bid document, but no specific percentage of similar works that must be completed is mentioned. However, for certain contracts, the bidder should have experience in successfully completing or substantially completing at least one contract of similar work of at least 40 percent of the value of the proposed contract within the last five financial years. The substantially completed works mean those works which are at least 90 % completed. The bidder should have completed 60% of the quantity of principal items of work like concrete, earthwork, masonry, etc. within the last five financial years. In terms of specific values, the bidder should have achieved a minimum annual financial turnover of the annual value of the contract applied for in any one year over the last five years. The bidder is required to submit details of projects completed, including the value of the contract, which should be reported in Rs. Crore and Rs. Lakhs. For example, for works costing up to Rs. 7.5 crore (WRD Works), Rs. 7.0 crore (ROAD/BRIDGE/BUILDING WORKS), and Rs. 0.5 Crore (Electrical Works), certain documents should be submitted in electronic format. The bidder should invest a minimum cash up to 25% of the value of the work during the implementation of the contract.
