Agreement For Performance Of Work (apw) Ltbi Consultancy – Tuberculosis/leprosy Programme &   Background The World Health Organization Country Office Solomon Islands Provides Technical Support To The Ministry Of Health And Medical Services (mhms), Including The National Tuberculosis And Leprosy Program. The Mhms Has Requested Assistance To Revise The Nation Tb Treatment Guidelines And Conduct Clinical Training For Clinicians Managing Tb And Provincial Tb Program Coordinators. The Objective Of The Training Is To Enable Clinicians To Provide Quality Case Manage For Active And Latent Tb Infections, Including Drug Resistant Tb Cases To National Standards And Assist Tb Coordinators To Improve Programmatic Management Of Tb Cases, Conduct Active Case Findings, Screening, Follow-ups, Diagnosis, And Treatment. Who Country Office Is Seeking A Consultancy Group/institution To Assist In Providing This Training In Solomon Islands In The Coming Months. Purpose/specific Objective Of The Activity The Consultancy Will Provide Support To The Program In Updating The National Tuberculosis Treatment Guidelines, Aligning It With The Updated World Health Organization Treatment Recommendations And Develop Standard Operating Procedures For Tuberculosis Management Appropriate For All Levels Of The Health Service And Aligning With The National Tb Strategic Plan. Clinicians And Tb Coordinators From The Provinces Will Travel To The Capital Honiara To Undertake The Training Next Year 2024 Which Is Anticipated To Be Conducted Over A Week To 10 Days, Depending On The Cadre Of Health Worker And Structure Of The Course. By The End Of The Consultancy, An Updated Tb Treatment Guideline Should Be Available, And Clinicians And Tb Coordinators Should Be Competent With The Overall Management Of Tuberculosis In The Country.        Location: Honiara, Solomon Islands Description Of Activities To Be Carried Out Due To Solomon Islands Hosting Of The Pacific Games From 19th November To 5 Dec, Limited Opportunity Will Be Available For In Country Travel And Visits For All Of November And For Some Days After The Conclusion Of Games. It Is Therefore Recommended Treatment Guidelines Be Finalised And Endorse Prior To Dec 15, 2023, And Clinical Training Be Scheduled In February Or March 2024. A. Development Of National Treatment Guidelines And Sops Start Date: 1st November 2023 End Date:15th December 2023 B. Conduct Clinical Case Management Training Commence In February 2024. Up To 10 Days Of Education Time Plus 1 Travel Day Each Way To Honiara. Methods To Carry Out The Activity Consultation With The National Tuberculosis And Leprosy Program Through Remote Communication. Conduct In Country Training With Participants. Update Tuberculosis Treatment Guideline To Align With National Tb Strategic Plan Who Guidelines And Country Context Through Remote Communication And Consultation. Develop Standard Operating Procedures For Tb Case And Program Management. Provide Progress And Final Reports To Who Country Office And National Tb Program. Proposed Outputs: Deliverables: Updated National Tuberculosis Treatment Guidelines. Developed Sops For Tuberculosis Clinical And Program Managers. Completion Of Clinical Training. Skills Expert In Tuberculosis Infection, Treatment, And Management With Proficiency In Training And Providing Technical Assistance. Developing Technical Documents For Mhms And Other Ngos Excellent Interpersonal And Communication Skills, Ability To Demonstrate Effective Collaboration With Multidisciplinary Teams. Have Initiative And Demonstrates Courtesy And Discretion. Competent In Personal Organization, Priority Setting And Accuracy, With The Ability To Work Independently And Efficiently Under Pressure. Have Flexibility To Respond To Changing Requirements. Qualification Medical Degree Or Advanced Degree In Microbiology, Laboratory Sciences Or Related Field From A Recognized University, With At Least 5 Years In The Field Of Tuberculosis Control. Experience A Clinic Ltb Expert With Experience In Training And Development Of Training Materials For Country Level Ministries Of Health And Ngos. Development And Updating Of Technical Documents For Ministries Of Health And Other Ngos Greater Than 5 Years In Tuberculosis Management And Control Place Of Assignment Consultant Will Be Working Remotely To Commence Work On The Update Of The National Tb Treatment Guidelines And Relative Documentation And Travel To Honiara To Conduct Training And Finalising Treatment Guidelines.
