Short Term Consultancy For External Relations Open New Window & Background The Lao People’s Democratic Republic Has Received Strong Support From Donors And Partners During The Country’s Period As A Least Developed Country (ldc). As The Country Begins Its Graduation And Transition From Ldc Status, The Type Of Support It Receives Will Change. Who, As A Facilitator And An Convener Of International Health Support, Has Been Supporting And Closely Working With The Government And Partners To Ensure That National Counterparts Continue To Be Prepared And Respond To Health Challenges, With Sufficient Resources. As This Context Changes, Strong Engagement With Donors And Partners Is Critical. An Essential Component Of This Is Communications And Visibility, As Well As Donor Reporting And Partner Relationships. Given The Media Landscape In Lao Pdr, And Interests Of Donors From A Communications Perspective, Media Relations, Event-related Activities And Social Media Visibility Are Crucial Areas Of Focus. This Position Will Improve Visibility Of Donor-funded Health Efforts Through These And Other Channels, As Well As Facilitating Regular Donor Reporting To Enhance Donor And Partners Relations, And Supporting Relationship Management Via Technical Officers And The Who Representative. With This In View, Who Laos Pdr Is Recruiting A Consultant Under Below Terms Of Reference.   Purpose/specific Objective Of The Activity This Consultancy Will Support Who Lao People’s Democratic Republic (lao Pdr) On Provision Of Effective Communication With Donors And Partners, With A Focus On Producing High-quality Communications Products And Materials.   Description Of Activities To Be Carried Out Output 1: Development Of Donor-specific Plans For Communications And Visibility Activities, And Development Of Material And Activities (i.e. Media Content, Success Stories, Events, Social Media Material, Briefings) To Meet These Needs • Deliverable 1.1: Develop And Implement Donor Visibility Plans, Including Leading And Developing All Materials And Content. • Deliverable 1.2: Meet Donors’ Requests In Term Of Visibility Materials. Output 2: Supporting Who Staff With Donor Rapport And Fostering Partnerships With Existing And Prospective Donors/partners In Lao Pdr • Deliverable 2.1: Maintain And Submit An Updated Quarterly Record Of Existing And Prospective Donors/partners In Lao Pdr. • Deliverable 2.2: Manage A Repository Of Key Donors, And Their Mandates And Requirements Of Each Donors/partners And Communicate And Suggest Ways To Foster Or Strengthen Partnerships. • Deliverable 2.3: Assist In Collecting Intel And Feedback From Donors And Reporting Back. Output 3: Support Technical Units In Identifying Opportunities To Feature The Project And Donor Support, And Preparation Of Proposal Submission And Reports If Needed • Deliverable 3.1: Work With Technical Units To Identify Opportunities To Highlight Donor’s Work In Country • Deliverable 3.2: Assist In The Preparation Of Proposals Writing And Donor Reports, When Needed. This Includes Providing Writing, Editing, And Formatting Support, As Well As Ensuring Overall Compliance With Donor Agreements And Who Policies. Ensure The Timely Submission Of Good Quality Reports. Experience Essential: Minimum Of Four Years Of Experience In Strategic Or Donors And External Relations Communication. Country-office Level Experience Producing Success Stories, Social Media Material, Events, And Media Engagements. The Consultant Should Have Experience Of Working Within The Un System Or With Un Partners. Technical Skills & Knowledge Knowledge And Skills In Communication, Including Event Management, Social Media, Media Relations. Knowledge And Skills In Relationship Or Account/client Management. Competencies Communication In A Credible And Effective Way Producing Results Teamwork Respecting And Promoting Individual And Cultural Differences   Additional Information Duration Of Contract: 6 Months Duty Station: Vientiane, Lao Pdr Others: The Selected Consultant Will Be Expected To Provide A Medical Certificate Of Fitness For Work.
