Background The Pacific Noncommunicable Diseases (ncd) And Health Through The Life Course Provides Technical Support To The Pacific Island Ministries Of Health With Noncommunicable Diseases, Health Promotion, Nutrition And Related Issues Including Cancer Control. Cancer Control Focus Areas Are Primarily National Cancer Control Planning, Cancer Registry Support And Early Detection Programme Support. Who Is Collaborating With The Ministry Of Health And Medical Services (mohms) To Strengthen The Systems And Practices Which Are Used To Collect And Analyse Cancer Data In The Hospital Setting And Public Health. Who Is Also Providing Technical Advice/support To The Development Of A National Cancer Control Plan And Economic Analysis Of Cervical Cancer Early Detection.   Purpose/specific Objective Of The Activity The Purpose Of This Activity Is To Engage A Fiji-based Organisation, Supported By An International Partner Organisation Or Expert Group(s), To Support The Completion Of Three Major Work Areas Relating To Cancer Control Data Collection And Analysis: I) Using An Existing Tool, Data Collection And Analysis For A Cost-benefit Analysis Of Cervical Cancer Screening And Treatment Methods, Ii) A Situation Analysis Of Cancer Control In Fiji, And Iii) Mapping Clinical Cancer Patient Data In The Mohms Hq And Facilities. Results Will Contribute To National Cancer Control Planning And Improved Management Of Cancer Patients.   Description Of Activities To Be Carried Out Output 1: Report On The Application Of The Who Cervical Cancer Control Screening And Prevention Costing Tool (c4p) Using Fiji Data. Deliverable 1.1: The C4p Tool With All Data Inputs Completed.  Deliverable 1.2: Draft Report Using The Outputs Of The C4p Tool And Preliminary Recommendations For National Programme Planning. Output 2: Report On The Situational Analysis Of Cancer Control In Fiji Deliverable 2.1: Data Requirements For National Cancer Control Planning Defined In Collaboration With Mohms Deliverable 2.2: Update Of Existing Situation Analysis Documents For Cancer Control In Fiji, Both Within Government And Non-government Cancer Projects. Deliverable 2.3: Use Analytical And Descriptive Epidemiology To Describe Burden Of Cancer In Fiji Using Data From The Mohms Health Information Unit, Among Other Sources. Deliverable 2.4: Utilise Mixed Research Methods To Describe The Barriers For Effective Cancer Control. Output 3: Report Of A Mapping Exercise Of Cancer-related Health Information Systems In Fiji, Including Data Generation, Storage, Utilisation, Users, Quality And Processes For Manipulation And Analysis. Deliverable 3.1: Map The Surrounding Pathways/flow Of Cancer Patient Data Throughout Divisional Hospitals Including Prior To Diagnosis. Deliverable 3.2: Map Data Flow From Clinical Areas (including Beyond Mohms) To/from The Mohms; And Describe How The Data Is Used, Identifying Gaps And Considering Data Quality. Deliverable 3.3: Draft A Recommended Standard Operating Procedure To Improve Patient Tracking From Diagnosis Through To Follow-up, Including Both Local And Overseas Treatment.   Methods To Carry Out The Activity The Successful Organisation(s) Will Be Expected To Use The Who’s Cervical Cancer Control Screening And Prevention Costing Tool (c4p) To Complete Output 1. Information Will Need To Be Collected From Stakeholders Inside/external To Mohms And Government. Output 2 Will Be Following The Structure Of An Existing Mohms Situation Analysis From 2016, With Expansion If Necessary. The Situation Analysis Will Be Updated By Seeking Input From Different Facilities And Organisations In Fiji Which Contribute To Cancer Control. This Might Involve Mixed Methods Of Analysing Quantitative Epidemiological Data (e.g.) Or Informant Interviews And Focus Group Discussions, As Is Seen As Necessary By The Contractor. Output 3 Will Be Majority Hospital-based, Involving Discussion With Clinicians And Clinical Data Managers. This Will Need To Be Undertaken On Site Throughout The Health Facilities And Different Clinical Units. All Outputs Will Require Extensive Face-to-face Visitation To Stakeholders Around Fiji Who Hold Important Information To Fulfil The Deliverables. All Outputs Will Require Data From The Mohms Obtainable By Means Of An Official Data Request Form. Site Visit To At Least One Divisional Hospital Is Recommended But Not Mandatory.
