Background Violence Against Women (vaw) Is A Major Public Health Issue And A Violation Of Women's Human Rights. Global Estimates Indicate That About 1 In 3 Women Worldwide Have Experienced Either Physical And/or Sexual Intimate Partner Violence Or Non-partner Sexual Violence In Their Lifetime. Violence Against Children (vac) Affects One In Two Children – Or One Billion Children – Each Year. In Addition To Its Immediate Harms To Individuals, Families And Communities, Violence Against Children Can Have Severe Lifelong Effects. There Are Several Intersections Between Vaw And Vac Including Overlapping Risk Factors, Shared Root Causes, And Consequences Of Violence On Wellbeing. While The Forms And Effects Of Violence May Differ For Girls And Women, Both Negatively Impact Gender Equity And Economic Growth At A Population Level[1]. Limited Resources Often Result In Shared Mechanisms For Preventing And Responding To Violence Against Women And Children At The Country Level. It Is Therefore Crucial To Integrate Interventions And Demonstrate How Addressing One Form Of Violence Can Positively Impact The Other. Two Separate Data Collection Exercises Were Conducted In 2017-2019 Across 27 Member States Of The Who Western Pacific Region (wpr). The First Collected Information On Strategies, Legislation And Programs To Prevent And Respond To Violence Against Children. The Second Investigated Existing Responses To Ending Violence Against Women. In 2020, A Report Was Developed Which Summarised The Outcomes Of These 2 Data Collection Exercises. Report Content Was Reviewed Through An Informal Regional Consultation In March 2021, During Which Additional Case Studies Were Shared By Member States (specifically: Papua New Guinea, Philippines, New Zealand And Mongolia). This Information Was Considered An Important Addition To The Report, Anticipated To Provide Other Countries With More Detailed Knowledge On How Strategies, Services And Programs To Address Vaw And Vac Can Be Aligned, And What Potential Challenges May Be Faced.   Purpose/specific Objective Of The Activity The Purpose Of This Apw Is To Finalize A Regional Baseline Status Report On Responding To Violence Against Women And Preventing Violence Against Children In The Western Pacific.   Work To Be Performed • Review 1) The Existing Draft Report And 2) Outcomes From The Member State Consultation In March 2021 (including The Meeting Report, Video/audio Recordings, Graphic Illustrations And Presentation Slides). • Identify How And Where Information Shared During The Member State Consultation Can Be Used To Supplement And Strengthen The Existing Draft Report. • Produce A Finalized Regional Report Which Incorporates Existing Draft Report Text And Country Learnings And Experiences Shared During The Member State Consultation.   Qualifications And Experience Education                                Candidates Must Possess At Least A Master’s Degree In Public Health, Or A Master’s Degree In A Related Field Such As Social Work.additional Education Is An Asset.   Experience • Excellent Knowledge And At Least Two Years Of Experience Working In Public Health, Particularly In Violence Prevention And/or Response. • Over Two Years' Experience In Data Collection/analysis, Such As Surveys, Datasets, Structured Interviews, Ideally With Some Experience Acquired Working In Low And Middle-income Countries. • Demonstrated Ability To Build Partnerships And Work In Multicultural And Multidisciplinary Settings. • Excellent Inter-personal Skills. • Experience Working With Legal Documents Is An Asset. • Ability To Work Independently.   Skills / Technical Skills And Knowledge A Thorough Knowledge Of Gender-based Violence Related Issues Within The Region. Good Management And Leadership Abilities And Experience. Familiarity With The Goals And Procedures Of International Organizations (un System, Donors, Nongovernmental Organizations). Excellent Inter-personal Skills.   Language Requirements Good Spoken And Written English.   Competencies • Producing Results - Produces And Delivers Quality Results.
