Background Feedback From Staff Received By The Ombuds Office Suggests That Staff Continue To Be Uncertain About The Ombuds Role And The Methods That The Ombuds Takes To Assist In The Resolution Of Concerns Or Issues.one Staff Member In A Country Office Commented Recently: “you Are A Bit Like A Cloud; We Know You Are There, But We Are Not Really Sure What You Do”. The Ombuds Has Provided A Variety Of Outreach Activities In The First 18 Months Of Operation, Including Town Halls, Country Office Visits, Presentations To Ro Division, However It Is Clear That More Creative Methods Are Required To Achieve Enhance Understanding Hence Utilization Of The Role. 2. Purpose/specific Objective Of The Activity A Consultant Will Be Engaged To Assist The Ombuds Office In Creating A Workplan For 2024, Including New Methods Of Outreach. To Assist In Communicating The Role And Purpose Of The Ombuds Office Clearly To Who Workforce. To Assist With The Familiarization Of Who Workforce On The Systemic Issues That Ombuds Office Can Provide Services On. To Assist With The Creation Of Right Internal And External Communications Tools For Conveying Ombud’s Office Services. 3. Description Of Activities To Be Carried Out Develop A Workplan Of Activities And Outreach Services, Based On Best-practice Initiatives From Other International Organizations. Develop Timeline For 2024-2025 Biennium Workplan Develop Methods And Materials For Outreach. Other Related Information, Education And Communication Materials For The Ombuds Office. 4. Methods To Carry Out The Activity The Consultant Will Workshop With The Ombuds Office To Map Current Plans And Gaps In Outreach Services.  A Workplan Will Then Be Developed For 2024. 5. Qualifications & Experience Education Essential:   University Degree Such As Communications, Social Science And/or Social Innovation. Desirable: Significant Experience In Developing Communication Strategies And Activities For A Large International Organization Encompassing A Large Geographical Area. Experience Essential: Experience In International And Multi-cultural Organizations Experience In Developing Communication Plans Background In Organizational Ombuds Work Desirable: 6. Technical Skills & Knowledge Communication And Organizational Skills Strategic Thinking Collaboration Skills Facilitation Skills 7. Languages Excellent In Written And Spoken Knowledge Of English Language 8.
