Background On 31 December 2019, Who Was Informed Of Cases Of Pneumonia Of Unknown Cause Detected In Wuhan City, Hubei Province Of China. The Pathogen Was Subsequently Identified As Coronavirus Disease 2019 (covid-19). All Levels Of Who Have Been Working Closely With Member States In The Western Pacific Region Throughout The Pandemic. Who Teams Have Been Working Non-stop To Develop The Interim Guidance And Facilitate Meeting Obligations Under The International Health Regulations (2005). As Cases Continue To Be Reported, Ongoing Preparedness And Response Efforts Are Required In The Region. To Cope With The Situation, The Health Emergencies Team In The Who Regional Office Is Being Strengthened To Provide Technical Assistance To Member States For Preparedness And Response Efforts, Including In The Areas Of Epidemiology, Clinical Management And Public Health Interventions. The Covid-19 Response Operations In The Region Are Expected To Continue For The Foreseeable Future.   Purpose/specific Objective Of The Activity This Consultancy Will Support The Activities Of The Partner Coordination Pillar And One Other Pillar In The Who Regional Office For The Western Pacific On Issues Related To Covid-19.   Description Of Activities To Be Carried Out (aligned To Draft Monthly Plans) Under The Supervision Of The Wpro Imst Incident Manager, The Incumbent Will Provide Technical And Operational Assistance To Covid-19 Response Activities From The Regional Office. While The Primary Role Of The Incumbent Will Be To Support The Imst Partner Coordination Pillar, They Will Spend The Rest Of Their Time Supporting Another Imst Pillar (tbd Based On Applicant Profiles). Therefore, We Are Looking For A Flexible All-rounder With A Skillset Relevant To At Least One Of The Other Imst Pillars (health Service Delivery; Science & Research; Information & Planning; Communications; Finance, Hr And Administration; And Operations Support And Logistics). Further Details Will Be Provided To Those Selected For Interviews.   Methods To Carry Out The Activity Deliverable 1.1: Coordinate The Work Of The Partner Coordination Pillar And Complete Relevant Administrative And Technical Tasks (updating Of Guidance Documents, Submission Of Periodic Updates, M&e Of Pillar Activities, Etc.) Deliverable 1.2: Support The Activities Of One Other (see Full List Of Pillars In Section Three) As Necessary. Deliverable 1.3: Support The Technical Officer For The Global Outbreak Alert And Response Network (goarn) With Development Of Materials For Trainings And Meetings. Deliverable 1.4: Develop Partner Visibility Products, Including Web Stories And Social Media Posts, To Highlight Who’s Response To Covid-19 With Partners. Deliverable 1.5: Review Ways To Utilize Who Collaborating Centres To Support The Covid-19 Response.   Qualifications & Experience Education Essential:  first University Degree In Medicine, Public Health, Management, Business Or Public Administration Or Other Social Sciences From An Accredited/recognized Institute. Desirable: Advanced Degree In Public Health, Epidemiology Or Related Field From A Recognized University.   Experience Essential: A Minimum Of Two Years Of Relevant Experience In Public Health Preparedness At The National Or International Levels In Planning, Developing, Managing And Monitoring Technical Programmes Or Operations Research And Reporting, In A Public Health Or A Humanitarian International Context.
