Gross Axle Weight Equipped With Flotation Tires. the Contractor Shall Use Their Own Lowering Cables/ Chains With A Load Test Tag Attached. the Contractor Is Required To Deliver Concrete Liners And Installation Equipment One (1) Hour Prior To A Scheduled Interment. Equipment Noise During The Interment Ceremony Shall Not Disturb The Services. the Contractor Is To Be At The Cemetery And Grave Liners Are To Be Installed Within The Gravesite Not Less Than Thirty (30) Minutes Prior To Scheduled Interment. The Unit Shall Be Secured (lid Placement Made) Not Later Than 30 Minutes After The Lowering Of The Casket In The Gravesite. the National Cemetery Will Not Provide Any Cemetery Employees To Assist With The Installation Of Caskets And Grave Liners. The Installation Of The Grave Liner Requires A Sufficient Crew From The Contractor To Lower The Grave Liner Into The Grave As Not To Cause A Cave-in, Or Other Gravesite Damages. If Damage To Gravesite Happens, The Contractor Will Be Responsible For Making Repairs And Correcting Deficiencies, When Lowering The Grave Liner, The Contractor Will Keep The Liner Level At All Times To Prevent The Liner From Going Side To Side. Contractor Will Assure That Grave Liners Are Properly Guided Into The Grave. grave Liners Will Be Visually Spotted And Placed In Accordance With Gravesite Alignment. The Lids Of Units Will Be Positioned On A Flat Surface And Be Secured Until They Are Placed On The Liner. This Cemetery Reserves The Right To Determine What Constitutes An Acceptably Placed Unit In Accordance With Placement Requirements At All Times. removal, Replacement, Or Corrective Work Resulting From Negligence By The Contractor, Shall Be Corrected At No Additional Cost And Shall Not Interfere With The Normal Performance Of The Contract. Corrective Work Shall Not Result In Delays For The Scheduled Interments Or Result In Employees Of This Cemetery Having To Work Beyond The Normal Working Hours Of 8:00 A.m. To 4:30 P.m. contractor Will Be Responsible For The Clean-up Of Any Mud Brought Into The Cemetery Compound Or Placed Onto Cemetery Roadways By The Contractor's Equipment On A Daily Basis. Contractor Will Be Required To Remove Mud And Debris From Roads Before The End Of The Day. When Wet/muddy Conditions Exist Or When Needed As Determined By Director Of Foreman, Contractor Must Use Planking/mud Track/boards For Access Into Burial Areas. Contractor Must Supply The Labor To Place And Pick Up Tracking Boards. The Cemetery Foreman Or His/her Designee Is Available To Provide Assistance In Determining Access Points Into Burial Sections. grave Liner Installation 1st And 2nd Interments the Cemetery Will Not Provide Any Storage On Site For The Contractor S Equipment. All Services Are To Be Done At The Gravesite. for Any Traditional Burial Cemetery Staff Will Excavate To The Proper Depth. Contractor Shall Install The Grave Liner By Means Of Using A Self-propelled Light Weight Vehicle, Portable Vault Carrier Or Similar Equipment With Turf Tires Or Track Drive System Approved By The Cemetery Director That Will Safely Lift The Grave Liner And Prevent Damage To Headstones, Turf, And Irrigation Systems. All Lids Removed Shall Be Temporarily Placed Or Aligned In An Orderly Aesthetically Manner Not To Damage Government Property Or Surrounding Graves. Contractor Will Be Responsible For Any Debris That Falls Inside The Liner Prior To The Casket Being Lowered By The Cemetery Staff. If The Contractor Needs To Enter A Gravesite, They Need To Have Shoring To Render The Gravesite Safe. Once The Casket Is Lowered By Cemetery Staff, The Contractor Will Place The Lid. Vault/grave Liner Shall Be Lowered Into The Traditional Section Using A Contractor Provided Lowering Device, Safety Lowering Device Straps Provided By The Cemetery Or A Cemetery Provided Lowering Device System. All Open Gravesite Areas Shall Be Secured Or Covered By Approved Safety Devices Or Otherwise Deemed. cemetery Personnel Will Be Responsible For Transportation Of Casket From Committal Shelter To The Gravesite Where Field Staff Will Unload The Casket And Lower The Remains. contractors Are Responsible For All Private Vaults. This Includes Placement, Lowering Of The Remains, And Closing Of The Vault Lid At The Gravesite. All Vaults Minus The Lid Will Be Placed In The Ground Sixty Minutes (60) Before The Time Of Service. At This Time The Lid May Be Placed On 2x4/4x4 That Are Supplied By The Contractor. all Services Will Be Done At The Gravesite. At Any Time, Due To Scheduling Or A Service Showing Up Late, The Contractor May Have To Be Set Up Earlier Or Later. The Cemetery Will Do Its Best To Communicate With The Contractor If Any Issues Arise. (example) 2nd Interments Shall Be Covered Until Ready Until Casketed Remains Arrive Because The Lid Is Removed, And Contractor Sets Up Device Ahead Of Time. contractor Shall Be Responsible For The Clean-up Of Any Mud Brought Into The Cemetery Compound By The Contractor's Equipment. Cemetery Staff Will Place Screening Before Any Excavation Begins. Cemetery Staff Will Excavate To The Top Of Vault Lids. Contractor Shall Prep Vault Lid For Removal By Cleaning Debris From Top And Side Of Crypt Lid Lift Hooks/crevices. Contractor Shall Remove And Re-install Lids By Means Of A Cemetery Director Approved Piece Of Equipment Or Vehicle That Shall Safely Lift Lids And Casket Preventing Damage To Casket, Pre- Placed Crypts1 Headstones, Turf, And Irrigation Systems. All Lids Removed Shall Be Temporarily Placed Or Aligned In An Orderly Aesthetically Manner Not To Damage Lids Or Government Property. Contractor Shall Remove Casketed Remains From Vault Gravesite In A Dignified Manner Approved By The Cemetery Cor And Transport Remains To The Newly Established Gravesite Within The Cemetery Grounds Using A Portable Flatbed/light Weight Vehicle With Turf Tires And Enclosed Sides As To Not Expose Casket While Transporting To Gravesite. Cemetery Staff Will Come Back At A Later Date And Remove The Grave Liner. grave Liner Installation. All Grave Liner Installation Requirements Shall Apply Here For Re-interring. reopening/occupied Gravesites. In Cases Where It Will Be Necessary To Transport Grave Liners Into Established Burial Sections, A Portable Vault Carrier Shall Be Used. Equipment Shall Not Exceed 11,000 Pounds Gross Axle Weight When Operating In Established Burial Sections (see "damages Caused By Contractor's Neglect). The Cemetery Foreman Is Available To Provide Assistance In Determining Access Points. into Burial Sections. Grave Liner Lids Shall Be Removed And Replaced In A Safe Manner. damages Caused By Contractor's Neglect in The Event Damages Result To The Units And/or Gravesites (cave-in's), Surrounding Areas, Headstones, Or To Third Parties Due To Neglect By The Contractor, Restitution Will Be Required At No Cost To The Agency. Changes In Schedules, Work Assignments Or Delays Of Daily Operation Must Not Occur Under Any Circumstances. The Contractor Will Repair Any Turf Damaged; By Back-filling With Clean Dirt, Compacting, Seed And Straw Matting. Contractor Will Be Allowed To Use Cemetery Material For This Task. storage Rejection upon Delivery Of A Grave Liner Or Private Vault All Paperwork Is To Be Turned In To A Cemetery Supervisor. At No Time Will A Private Vault Or Grave Liner Be Dropped Off And Left Outside The Maintenance Yard. They're To Be Secured Inside The Maintenance Yard. All Damaged Or Rejected Units Shall Be Removed, Without Exception, From The Cemetery Grounds Daily. All Rejected Units Will Be Indicated (marked In Such A Manner), As Mutually Agreed Upon By The Contractor And The Cemetery Director. delivery Requirements all Work Shall Be Performed During Normal Cemetery Hours Of Operation, 8:00am Through 4:30pm Local Time Monday Through Friday, And Certain Weekend And Holidays, As Required (see Federal Holidays). Work Performed During Non-duty Hours, Weekends, And Holidays, Will Be At The Approval Of The Cor. The Contractor Will Normally Be Notified Of Unit Requirements To Be Delivered The Day Prior To Need, With The Exclusion Of Mondays Due To The Possibility That Interments Were Scheduled Over The Weekend. In Those Cases, The Contractor Will Not Be Notified Until Approximately 8:00am, On Monday Morning, The Day Of Interment. The National Cemetery Administration (nca) Are National Shrines That Honors Veterans With A Final Resting Place And Lasting Memorials That Commemorate Their Service To Our Nation. The Standards Of Work, Appearance, And Procedures Performed By Contractors At National Cemeteries Shall Reflect This Nation S Concern For Those Interred There. Due To The Sensitive Mission Of The Cemetery, Contractor S Personnel Must Exercise And Exhibit Absolute Decorum, Composure, And Stability At All Times. as The Work Being Performed Is At A National Cemetery All Contractor S Employee Must Always Look Professional And Neat In Appearance; And Be Fully Clothed To Include Upper Garment To Cover The Body From The Waist To Neck And Long Pants Or Slacks. The Contractor Shall Require Its Employees, Including Subcontractors, To Wear Distinctive Visible Identification At All Times For Easy Identification While On Nca Premises. Contractor And Contractor S Personnel (including Subcontractor And Their Employees) Shall Be Required To Adhere To The Standards Of Dress And Conduct While Performing Work On The National Cemetery. Shall Show Proper Reverence During Committal Service. not Eat Or Drink Beverages Except Water Or Non-alcoholic Drinks While In Work Area Or In Sight Of Committal Service Area During A Service. Use Of Intoxicating Beverages And/or Drugs Is Strictly Prohibited. not Lean, Sit, Or Stand On Or Against Headstones, Markers, Or Monuments.
