This Project Will Engage An Architectural/engineering Team To Provide Professional Services For The Renovate B500-5c For Geri-psych Project. It Will Consist Of The Renovation Of Approximately 13,000 Total Gsf Of Existing Space. The Project Will Be A Complete Renovation Of The Space That Will Include Replacement Or Upgrade Of Supporting Utilities As Well. Each Item Will Be Reviewed During The Design Stages And Evaluated For Probable Cost. priorities Of Work this Project Will Provide For A Complete Renovation Of The 5c Wing In Building 500 To House A New Long Term Care Unit (ltc/clc) For Veterans Requiring Mental Health Care. The Unit Will Have Mental Health Components That Will Need To Be Addressed. this Is A New Model Type That Will Bridge Components Between Ltc/clc And Mental Health, However, It Shall Be Understood That The Unit Will Not Be At A High Level Of Psychiatric Patient Care Where Veterans Maybe At Risk Of Suicide Or Self-harm. the Design Team Shall Have An Understanding For The Design Of Ltc/clc As Well As Mental Health Inpatient Units For A Better Understanding Of Needs During Conversations With These Two Main Services. the Ae Will Use The Attached Architectural Limits Of Work As A Guide Of The Impacted Areas, But This Delineation Does Reflect Other Infrastructure Utility Rooms As Well As Utility Paths That Support The Final Design And Are Beyond These Limits. the Two Attached Seps Documents Are For Reference Of Internal Reviews And Shall Be Used For Confirmation, And Re-evaluation At Commencement Of Design. at A Minimum The A/e Shall Reference The Va Design Guide Plates Located At Http://www.cfm.va.gov/til/dguide.asp, Design Alerts At Https://www.cfm.va.gov/til/alert.asp, And The Va Design Manuals Located At Https://www.cfm.va.gov/til/dmanual.asp For Comprehensive Architectural And Engineering Requirements For Each Space Listed. the A/e Will Perform All Investigative Work Pertaining To But Not Limited To, Foundations, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Alarm, Sprinkler, Telecommunication, Hazardous Materials, Public Address System And Their Associated Appurtenances Located In Other Areas Of The Work Area As Deemed Necessary To Provide A Complete And Constructible Design. in Addition To Design Of Required New Work Areas The A/e Will Design The Required Rerouting, Relocation, And/or Extension Of All Existing Utilities Electrical, Plumbing, Etc. Which May Pass Thru The Proposed Design Area Servicing Surrounding Spaces And Future Expansions. the Ae Shall Implement To The Greatest Extent Possible Interior Design Principles And Finishes That Have Already Been Established For The Recently Renovated Sections Of The 5th Floor Long Term Care Service To Maintain A Continuity Of Design Intent. the Heating, Ventilation, And Air Conditioning (hvac) Design Shall Comply With The Va Hvac Design Manual.
