Background On Behalf Of The Eu, Unops Invites Interested And Eligible Applicants To Submit Proposals For A Study On Covid-19 Response Activities In The South West State Of Somalia. Objective The General Objective Of This Activity Is To Fill Critical Covid-19 Response Gaps In The South West State Of Somalia Through The Development Of Health Messaging Using Video.  Scope Of Work  The Somali Government Has Endorsed Health Messaging Content Previously Developed By Somali Response Innovation Lab (somril), Which Are Available In The Official Repository Of Covid-19 Resources Under The Joint Coordination Body Between The Ministry Of Health And The Un, The Risk Communication And Community Engagement (rcce) Taskforce. Because Of The Ril’s Early Mobilization, The Materials Have Been Widely Shared On Social Media, Through Official Communication Channels, Embedded Into Digital Beneficiary Registration Processes, Audio Clips Used As Pre-recorded Messages On Covid-19 Hotline, And Much More. The Eu Has Allocated Some Funds To Support The Targeting Of Covid-19 Public Health Messages To Sws. The Focus Will Be On Translating These Videos Into Maay Language, Which Is Widely Spoken In Sws (as Well As Jubaland And Benadir).  The Videos Produced Will Complement The Gap Filling Covid Response Interventions At Select Health Facilities In Sws, Which Will Include Health Care Worker Training On Covid-19, Sensitization And Awareness On Covax As Well As Training On Rdt And Support Towards Rdt Logistics In Remote Parts Of Sws  Project Overview The Eu Partnership Coordination Facility Implemented By Unops, Provides Support By Filling In The Identified Gaps With Flexible Tools And Mechanisms. Coordinating Efforts Is Essential In Order To Transform The Country Into A More Resilient, And Improved, Economic Sector With Greater Security, Gender Equity, Improved Human Development, Stronger Infrastructure, And Better Access To Basic Services That Are Delivered By Accountable Governmental Institutions. This Transformation Is Hindered By Slow Institutions That Are Unable To Respond Quickly To Emerging Needs. The Overall Objective Is To Contribute To Strengthening The Resilience Of Somali And Somaliland Communities To Cope With, Adapt And Recover From Recurrent Shocks. Qualifications And Experience    Type:  This Consultancy Is For A Civil Society Organisation Duration:  The Consultancy Will Be For A Period Of Approximately 2 Months. Location:  South West State, Somalia Qualifications Applicants Should Have Demonstrable Knowledge Of And Relationships With South West State Government And Relevant Stakeholders In The Location, In Particular The Ministry Of Health. Applicants Should Be Engaged In Ongoing Covid 19 Response Interventions In South West State Or Have Demonstrable Capacity To Carry Out Integrated Covid 19 Public Health Awareness Activities.  Applicants Should Have Expertise With The Development, Implementation And Coordination Of Resilience Building Programming In Somalia Or Similar Contexts, In Particular With Repository Of Covid-19 Resources Under The Joint Coordination Body Between The Ministry Of Health And The Un, The Risk Communication And Community Engagement (rcce) Taskforce. Applicants Should Have Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Successfully  Implementing  Community Adaptation Mechanisms, E.g. Adaptive Response Messaging (arm)  Applicants Should Have Experience In Developing Health Messages In Somali Context Including Child Friendly Content.  Lead Or Key Experts Of The Consultancy Will Have Knowledge And 10 Years Experience In Resilience And Other Related Fields. The Application Is Received From A Registered Organization With The Permission To Operate In South West State And Somalia.  The Applicant Should Have Excellent Knowledge Of Somali And English (both Spoken And Written) And Excellent Communication Skills. Experience With Formal Or Informal Participation In A Reference Group Or Consortium With Similar Civil Society Organisations Is Desirable.
