The Pa161 And Pa103a2 Containers Are Square Rimmed Six-inch Diameter Cylindrical Steel Shipping And Storage Containers Between 31 And 38 Inches In Length, Used For The 155mm M231 And M232a1 Modular Artillery Charge System (macs). The Purpose Of This Market Survey Is To Obtain Current Information On The Capability Of Potential Sources To Deliver The Metal Containers In Support Of Fy26 – Fy31 Requirements. the 155mm M231 & M232-series Propelling Charges, Known As Macs, Consist Of Two Different Propelling Charges That Provide A Complete Zoning Solution For 155mm Artillery Applications By Using Multiples Of A Basic Increment. The M231 Charges Are Used At Lower Zones (zones 1 & 2), While M232-series Charges Are Used At Progressively Higher Zones As Required. A Total Of Four M231 Macs Are Packed Per Pa161 Container While Five M232a2 Macs Are Packed Per Pa103a2 Container.
