The required prior work experience for the bidder is based on the completion of similar works. The bidder must have successfully completed or substantially completed any one of the following categories of work(s) during the last 07 years: (i) Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender, (ii) Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of the tender, (iii) One similar work costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of the tender. For subletting of work costing up to Rs 50 lakh, no previous work experience of the subcontractor shall be asked for. The subcontractor shall have successfully completed at least one work similar to the work proposed for subcontract, costing not less than 35% value of the work to be subletted, in the last 5 years. In case of tenders for composite works, the tenderer must have successfully completed or substantially completed any one of the following categories of work(s) during the last 07 years: (i) Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of each component of the tender, (ii) Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of each component of the tender, (iii) One similar work each costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of each component of the tender. The values and percentages mentioned are: - Rs 50 lakh as the threshold value for not requiring prior work experience for the subcontractor - 35% as the minimum value of similar work that the subcontractor should have completed - 30%, 40%, and 60% as the percentages of the advertised value of the tender for similar works completed - 90% as the payment made to the contractor for substantially completed work.
