The bidder is required to have prior work experience in civil engineering construction work, specifically having executed and received payments for a total annual volume of civil engineering construction work in the last five years preceding the year in which bids are invited. The bidder should provide information on the total annual volume of civil engineering construction work executed and payments received in the last five years. They should also provide information on work performed as a prime contractor on construction works of a similar nature and volume over the last five years. The value of similar works completed should be provided in terms of the total annual volume of civil engineering construction work executed and payments received in the last five years. Although the percentage of similar works completed is not explicitly mentioned, the bidder is required to provide information on the value of works remaining to be completed. The bidder should have satisfactorily completed, as a prime contractor, at least one similar work equal in value to one-third (or one-fourth in case of Naxal / LWE affected districts) of the estimated cost of the work for which the bid is invited. In terms of financial turnover, the bidder should have achieved, in any one year, a minimum financial turnover equivalent to 60% of the amount put to bid if the amount is Rs.200 lakhs, or 75% of the amount put to bid if it is more than Rs.200 lakhs. However, in Naxal / Left Wing Extremist Affected Districts, the figure of 75% would be replaced by 50%. The bidder's available bid capacity for construction work should be equal to or more than the total bid value excluding maintenance, calculated based on the maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years, updated to the price level of the last year at the rate of 8 percent a year.
