The required prior work experience for the bidder includes experience as a prime contractor or as a nominated sub-contractor, with the sub-contract involving execution of all main items of work described in the bid documents. The experience should be in works of a similar nature over the last five years and in the current year before the submission of the bid. The bidder should have completed works of a similar nature, with no specific percentage of similar works completed mentioned. However, for substantially completed works, the bidder should have completed at least 90% of the original contract price. The values mentioned for the cost of work to be executed are: - More than Rs.50 lakhs - More than Rs.15 lakhs but less than Rs.50 lakhs - Less than Rs.15 lakhs but more than Rs.5 lakhs - Less than Rs. 5 lakhs The bidder should also have experience in successfully completing or substantially completing at least one contract of highway (road and/or bridge works) or airport runway of at least 40 percent of the value of the proposed contract within the last five years. The percentage mentioned is 30 percent, which is the minimum percentage of the qualifying criteria that the experience of the other joint venture partners must meet to be considered. Additionally, the lead partner should meet not less than 50 percent of all criteria. The bidder should have achieved a minimum annual financial turnover, defined as billing for works in progress and completed in all classes of civil engineering construction works only, in any one year, over the last five years of the annual value of contract/contracts applied for. The bidder should also demonstrate access to liquid assets, including working capital, cash in hand, and uncommitted bank guarantees, up to 25 percent of the value of the contract.
