The required prior work experience for the bidder includes having worked as a prime contractor or nominated sub-contractor on projects of similar nature in the last five years and in the current year before the submission of the bid. The bidder should have completed works with a value of at least Rs.359.42 Lakhs of the proposed contract within the last five years. The bidder should have experience in successfully completing or substantially completing at least one contract of highway (road and/or bridge works) or airport runway of at least 40 percent of the value, i.e., Rs.359.42 Lakhs of the proposed contract within the last five years. The bidder should also have achieved a minimum annual financial turnover of Rs. 1198.06 Lakhs in any one year over the last five years. Substantially completed works mean those works which are at least 90% completed. In case of a joint venture, the lead partner shall meet not less than 50 percent of all criteria, and the joint venture must collectively satisfy the criteria. The experience of the other joint venture partners shall be considered if it is not less than 30 percent of the qualifying criteria. No specific percentage of similar works completed is mentioned, except for the 30 percent criteria for joint venture partners and the 50 percent criteria for the lead partner.
