The required prior work experience for the bidder is assessed based on their past experience in executing civil engineering works. The bidder's capacity is calculated using the formula: Assessed Available Bid Capacity = (A* N* 2 - B), where A is the maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years, N is the number of years prescribed for completion of the project, and B is the value of existing commitments and ongoing works. The bidder needs to provide information on their experience as a Prime Contractor, in a Joint Venture, or as a Sub-Contractor, including the number of years of experience in each category. They also need to provide details of similar works completed, including the name of the project and reasons for not completing the work if any. For works above a certain value, the bidder should have satisfactorily completed similar works with specific requirements, such as one similar work of value not less than 80% of the estimated cost of work, or two similar works each of value not less than 50% of the estimated cost of work, or three similar works each of value not less than 40% of the estimated cost of work. The values of works can be updated to current price levels. The bidder also needs to provide their annual turnover from construction works for the last three financial years. For sub-contractors working on critical components or exceeding 10% of the work value, similar information is required. A specific value of Rs. 5.00 Crores is mentioned as a threshold for works requiring similar experience.
