The contract site is located in the Kontinkanka and Kaukovainio districts of the City of Oulu. The contract includes the construction of a new street connection to the container ramps and the construction of a parking area, as well as the widening of Professorinti and Ouluhaltins until completion in the scope presented in the contract documents, including the construction of streets, pedestrian and cycling paths, drainage structures, the environment, lighting, traffic control, traffic lights, parking areas and water supply.

In order to enable the reuse of the area, the former buildings of the Northern Finland Institute of Industry in Oulu's Hietasaari will be demolished. There are a total of three buildings and their combined gross area is about 7,800 Brm2. According to the preliminary schedule, the demolition works are scheduled from March to September 2025.
