Prince Rupert Regional Hospital Is Expanding Their Urology Services. In 2021-2022, There Are About 164 Prince Rupert Residents Who Sought Urology Service. To Meet The Needs Of Residents For Or Services And To Expand Urology, Or1, Requires Upgrades To Meet Standards Of An Operating Theatre. Renovating Or1 Would Increase Surgical Capacity And Allow The Hospital To Expand Urology Services, Reduce Wait Time, And Serve As A Swing Room To Speed Up Turnover Time In Between Surgical Cases. Or1 Currently Has Tiles On The Walls And Is Not Lead Shielded. There Is No Surgical Light, Surgical Boom, Or Hook Up For An Anaesthesia Machine Which Means Surgical Cases Cannot Be Performed In This Space. Upgrading Electrical Services And Data Drops For New Urology And Surgical Equipment. A Computer Workstation Will Be Added In The Room. Overhead Paging Systems Require Upgrade For Physicians To Hear. Medical Gas Connections Will Require An Upgrade As Well. Floor Drainage Might Require Upgrading For Certain Urology Equipment. Minor Cabinet Upgrade With Stainless Steel Lining And Glass Doors To Secure Supplies. Or2 And Or3 Will Remain Operational During Construction So No Swing Space Will Be Required. Outside The Or1 Minor Upgrade Will Be Required For A Physician’s Dictation Room And Expanding Storage Space.
