The required prior work experience for the bidder includes successfully completing or substantially completing certain similar works within the last 07 years. The specific requirements are: - Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender, - Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of the tender, - One similar work each costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of the tender. Additionally, similar work is defined as supply of quarry products or any Civil Engineering works, consisting supply and use of ballast, boulders, stone aggregates, etc., involving consumption to the extent of minimum (a) 03 works each of 30% of tendered quantity, (b) 02 works, each of 40% of tendered quantity, or (c) 01 work with 60% of tendered quantity. The main contractor's average annual contractual turnover should be at least 1.5 V/N crores, where V is the advertised value of the tender in crores of rupees and N is the number of years prescribed for completion of the work. The bidder must also have minimum average annual contractual turnover of V/N or ‘V’ whichever is less, where V = Advertised value of the tender in crores of Rupees and N = Number of years prescribed for completion of work for which bids have been invited. The subcontractor shall have successfully completed at least one work similar to work proposed for subcontract, costing not less than 35% value of work to be subletted, in last 5 years. For subletting of work costing up to Rs 50 lakh, no previous work experience of subcontractor shall be asked for by the Railway. The value of the work to be subletted should be at least 35% of the value of the work proposed for subcontract.
