The bid capacity required in the given tender to bid is calculated using the formula: (A x N x 2) – B, where A = Maximum Annual Turnover during last 5 years (at current rate), N = Number of years prescribed for completion of the project/work, and B = Value of works in hand (during period of the due work). Alternatively, the bid capacity can also be determined by the following conditions: * Maximum Turnover of Bidder in last 05 years: It should be minimum up to 75% of the annual amount of the cost of the due contract. Formula: (Annual Cost = Total Cost of Work) / Period of work in years. * Following works experience in Govt. / Semi Govt. organization / Urban Local Body: The minimum cost of the work of similar nature and value completed by the contractors in the last 5 years. Either: Three similar completed works, of which work-wise costing should not be less than the amount equal to 40% of the estimated cost. Or: Two similar completed works, of which work-wise costing should not be less than the amount equal to 40% of the estimated cost. Given estimated cost of the work is Rs. 8,31,53,622/-, 40% of the estimated cost = Rs. 3,32,61,449, and 75% of the annual cost = Rs. 2,73,64,965.67. Another formula for bid capacity calculation is: A = Average of engineering works of a maximum value executed in any three years during last five years upgraded to present year B = Total value of existing commitment of ongoing work to be completed during next N years N = No. of year prescribed for completion of work for which present tender are invited The bid capacity is calculated as (A x N x 2) – B.
