Prior information notice without call for competition: Data-processing machines (hardware) Description of the procurement: The client intends to acquire an IT system in order to equip the Sardinia Radio Telescope (SRT) infrastructure with data archiving (storage) and high performance computing capacity (HPC and HTC), which are in line with the potential of the entire infrastructure in producing science of excellence. The system will be geographically located in 2 sites: at the SRT (System A, located within the headquarters of the Astronomical Observatory of Cagliari, OAC, in the municipality of Selargius) and at the Sardinia Radio Telescope (System B, in the municipality of San Basilio). The material to be installed at the San Basilio headquarters (System B) will in turn be divided into 2 lots, of which this constitutes lot 1. On the merits, the subject of lot 1 is the supply of the devices of the OR_8 realization objective, marked with the unique asset code PIR01_00010_65168, with the preliminary and non-exhaustive characteristics listed below. Rack-mounted HPC computing system with mixed CPU-GPU approach and rack-mounted storage system. Each computing node must be equipped with one or more GPU cards; at least 3TB of solid state and high redundancy disk space and at least 256 GB of RAM; low latency network card plus management / monitoring network card. The storage system will consist of nodes with the following preliminary characteristics: raw capacity greater than 350 TB with hot spare; RAM of at least 192 GB; low latency network card plus network card for management / monitoring; at least 12 TB of storage in high data transfer rate. System A (Selargius headquarters) Minimum number of compute nodes: 16. Minimum number of storage nodes: 6 Backup solution based on tape library + autoloader. The network topology must include at least one low latency switch and at least one switch dedicated to management / monitoring within the same contract. System B (SRT headquarters) Minimum number of calculation nodes: 4. Minimum number of storage nodes: 4 Backup solution based on tape library + autoloader.
