Description
This Is A Sources Sought Notice (ssn)/request For Information (rfi) And Not A Solicitation Or An Indication That A Contractual Commitment Will Exist As A Result Of This Ssn. this Announcement Is Not A Formal Request For Quotes (rfq). This Ssn/rfi Is For Informational And Planning Purposes Only And Does Not Guarantee That An Award Will Be Made. Any Quotes Submitted In Response To This Ssn/rfi Are Not Quotes On Which An Order Will Be Issued. The Government Assumes No Financial Responsibility For Any Costs Incurred. A Solicitation Package Is Not Available At This Time. However, Should Such A Requirement Materialize, No Basis For Claims Against Nrl Shall Arise As A Result Of A Response To This Ssn/rfi Or Nrl’s Use Of Such Information Either As Part Of Our Evaluation Process Or In Developing Specifications Or Work Statements For Any Subsequent Requirement. location: Contracting Office Address: Nrl, 4555 Overlook Avenue, Sw, Washington, Dc 20375 objective: To Procure 150 Sets (4 Connector Housing, Pins, Sockets, Etc. Per Set) Of Very Specific Avionics Blind Mate Connectors. These Modular Rack And Panel Connectors Are To Serve As Mechanical, Electrical, And Environmental Interfaces Between Line-replaceable Units (lrus) And The Host Environment. general Requirements The U.s. Naval Research Laboratory (nrl) Has A Requirement For 150 Sets (4 Connector Housing, Pins, Sockets, Etc. Per Set) Of Very Specific Avionics Blind Mate Connectors. These Modular Rack And Panel Connectors Are To Serve As Mechanical, Electrical, And Environmental Interfaces Between Line-replaceable Units (lrus) And The Host Environment. Each Set Must Include Two Pairs Of Blind-mate Connectors To Be Used In A Custom Designed Electronics Enclosure, Which Has Been Designed To Incorporate The Specific Connectors Identified In This Purchase Request. these Connectors Must Be Sealed From Environmental Intrusion, Rugged And Be Able To Withstand A Minimum Of 500 Mating And De-mating Cycles And Support Power, Rf, Signal, And Fiber Optic Cables In A Custom Layout To Support The Needs Of The Project. The Connectors Must Also Meet The Mechanical Form Factor Of No Greater Than 2.25” Tall, 7.5” In Length And 1.75” Deep the Connectors Must Feature A Rectangular Molded Insulator Enclosed In A Composite Or Metal Shell, With Contacts Arranged In Application-specific Configurations That Support High-speed Data, Power, Signal, And Fiber Optics. The Shell Will Be Secured To A Communications Enclosure With Screws. Connectors Must Be Front Release/removable And Have Low Insertion Loss. these Connectors Will Be Utilized In The Installation Of Communication Equipment In Vehicles.
