This Contract Will Provide Support To Kafb As The Landowner And The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (dtra) As The Operator Of The Ot-10 Area. Work Is Being Performed To Address Comments From A 2022 Inspection Completed By The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (nrc). For More Information See Nrc Inspection Reports 030-28641/2021-004 And 030-28641/2021-005. the Ot-10 Area Is Located In The Southeast Portion Of The Facility Near The Golf Course. It Consists Of Four Active Thorium-seeded Training Fields And A Bunker Used By Dtra To Train Military Radiological Response Personnel In The Detection Of Dispersed Contamination Resulting From Incidents Involving Nuclear Weapons. A List Of The Five Sites And Approximate Acreage Is Below. Attachment 1 (in Rfq Attachement) Includes A General Location Map And Aerials Of The Sites. • Training Site (ts)-1: Convoy Site, 7.6 Acres Consisting Of Mostly Flat Terrain • Ts-2: C-130 Crash Site, 12.5 Acres Consisting Of Uneven Terrain With Hills And Small Arroyos • Ts-3: B-52 Crash Site, 10 Acres Consisting Of Mostly Flat Terrain • Ts-4: Helicopter Crash Site, 10 Acres Consisting Of Mostly Flat Terrain • Building 28005 And The Immediate Surrounding Area: Bunker Containing Potentially Radioactive Material, 1 Acre Of Flat Terrain a Radiological Investigation That Included Gamma Walkover Surveys (gws) And Soil Sampling Was Completed In 2024, And The Associated Results Report Provides The Latest Information On The Ot-10 Area.
