From The Philippine Statistics Authority’s (psa) 2019 Data, Tourism Generated 12.7% Of Gdp (measuring Direct And Indirect Effects) And 13.6% Of National Employment. Domestic Tourism Accounted For 84% Of The Economic Value Of Tourism In Our Country. Domestic Tourism Is Thus An Underappreciated But Crucial Part Of Our National Economy. Domestic Travel Must Thus Be More Systematically Monitored And Studied, And Comprehensively Supported And Encouraged, Not Only To Revive The Tourism Industry And Many Local Economies But Also For Long-term Resilience And Growth.
