Description Project Name : Procurement Of Service Provider For The Ground Handling Services For The North Luzon Travel Expo Implementation Date : October 23-28, 2024 Total Project Cost : Php 861,190.00 Inclusive Of All Applicable Taxes I. Event Overview The North Luzon Travel Expo (nltex) Is An Event Organized By The Department Of Tourism (dot) In The North, Specifically The Cordillera Administrative Region (car) And Dot Regional Offices I, Ii, And Iii. The First Nltex Was Held In 2022 At The Smx Convention Center Clark In Pampanga, While The Second Edition Took Place In 2023 At The Cap Convention Center In Baguio City. The Event Provides A Platform For Travel Agencies, Tour Operators, Hotels, Resorts, Local Government Units, And Other Tourism-related Businesses To Showcase Their Product Offerings And Attract Both Local And International Tourists. This Year’s Edition Which Will Be Held In San Juan, La Union, Does Not Only Focus On The Revitalization Of The Tourism Industry But Also Incorporates Initiatives To Promote Biodiversity Conservation. This Includes Activities Like Tree Planting And "pawikan" (sea Turtle) Conservation, Highlighting The Expo's Commitment To Sustainable Tourism Practices. Ii. Objectives 1. Championing Biodiversity In North Luzon: The Nltex Expo Highlights The Vital Role Of Biodiversity In The Region. Through Engaging Exhibits, Presentations, And Immersive Activities, Visitors Gain A Deeper Understanding Of North Luzon's Diverse Ecosystems, Endangered Species, And The Threats They Face. The Event's Design Prioritizes Environmental Protection, Particularly For Nesting Turtles, With Careful Consideration Given To Lighting, Sound, And Their Natural Habitat. 2. Promote Sustainable Tourism Practices: The Nltex Encourages Tourism Businesses And Communities To Adopt Sustainable Practices That Minimize Their Environmental Impact. This Includes Promoting Eco-friendly Accommodations, Reducing Waste, And Supporting Local Conservation Efforts. 3. Engage In Hands-on Conservation Activities: The Expo Offers Opportunities For Participants To Get Involved In Hands-on Conservation Activities. Any Changes In The Itinerary And Logistical Requirements Shall Be Coordinated By Dot R1 To The Service Provider For Necessary Adjustment Which Shall Be Agreed Upon By Both Parties.
