Description Procurement Of Ground Handling Services For The Implementation Of The Orientation On The Dot Accreditation System, Tourism Standards Updates And Gender Sensitivity Awareness For Tourism Officers In Region 1 On October 17-18, 2024 And October 29-30, 2024 I. Background And Objectives In Order To Encourage Global Competitiveness, Strengthen Data Gathering And, Research On Tourism, And Facilitate The Promotion Of Individual Enterprises And The Industry As A Whole, The Department Of Tourism Shall Prescribe And Regulate The Standards For The Operation Of The Tourism Industry. Thus, The Department Will Conduct Orientation On The Updated Dot Accreditation Guidelines, Policies And Procedures And, In Line With The Gender Mainstreaming Efforts Of The Department Of Tourism Which Is To Integrate A Gender Perspective In All Its Programs, Activities And Projects And With The Low Compliance Of Tourism Establishments On Gender- Responsive Tourism Standards, The Department Of Tourism Region 1 (dot R1) Will Conduct Gender Sensitivity Awareness To Tourism Stakeholders In Region 1. The Activity Aims To Attain The Following:  To Establish A Common Understanding And Interpretation On The New Accreditation Scheme, Its Criteria, Implementing Guidelines And Processing;  To Give Opportunity For Potential Tourism Stakeholders To Be Accredited;  To Inform The Stakeholders Regarding R.a. 9593 And The Benefits Of Being Accredited By The Dot;  To Increase Of Awareness And Compliance Of The Tourism Stakeholders On Gender- Responsive Tourism Standard And To Identity Existing Gender Issues In Their Community;  To Strengthen Tourism Stakeholder’s Awareness Of The Gender Roles, Expectations And Issues And Their Impact On Community’s Day-to-day Life; And  To Develop An Understanding Of Basic Gender Concepts And Their Application To The Long-term Implementation Of Development Programs And Initiatives.
